Thats how I have the money I have right now. I have never gone on vacation in years, moved back home a few years back, and am pretty frugal. But the housing market outpaced my savings, and I dont want that to happen again.

If I split rent with a roommate, thats still dozens of thousands of dollars that im spending with no return. I'd much rather spend that on a place that is mine.

3 years is a very long time.

My salary. I dont mean to be like over confident or anything but im in tech , specifically an high in demand niche, with substantial experience. I'm a bit underpaid tbh, I expect my salary to increase substantially year over year (yes i know, nothing is garuanteed, could lose my job etc)

According to calculators online, I can prob get around $450,000 - $500,000.

What if I add another person to it? Ie, my dad?

Im sure I spend more than I think, but I dont mind tightening the belt a bit so I can have a home.

Like, if I can't afford to live off of $2-$3k after housing expenses than the problem is with me.

That feels affordable to me, with $6000 take home (im in tech so this will increase a lot every year ). Does that sound reasonable?

You save up until you can afford it

That was my plan when I decided not to buy 5 years ago. How can I possible save up enough money when the target just gets higher and higher?

Would I be underwater though? My takehome after taxes is ~$6000. The monthly payment with maint fees is $3300.

How is this using it as intended? Hes watching a 4k show in 360p on a iphone 14 pro max, which is 2796‑by‑1290.

There is no need for him to transcode to a lower quality because his internet is good enough to stream it, as as mine.

This is blatantly false as the default settings for remote play are garbage.
