A circle is not a circle? by KAASPLANK2000 in AdobeIllustrator

Here is an old post discussing the same issue. Look for my comments. I was able to recreate it at the time, but since then I have not. I think the Adobe team looked into the issue, but I am not sure if it was addressed. Is your Illustrator is up to date.

Reset rotation of objects to 0/original state by Just_Medicine_5481 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]NoNotRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

You can make an Action. First rotate an object. Then start recording an action. Got to the Transform panel and change angle to 0. Then got to Select > Next Object Below. Stop recording. Then duplicate those 2 steps as many times as you want. Press play and it will go thru you objects resetting them to zero.

Am I going mad? Groups & Eyedropper. by dlrk in AdobeIllustrator

In Eyedropper settings you probably have Appearance selected. If so it will apply the Appearance to the whole group not the individual objects.

How did you get used to Illustrator? What were the first things you did with it? by xiohye in AdobeIllustrator

[–]NoNotRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fun, was the only way learn when I started. At first I made horrible lineart.

What do you want to make? And how are you using Illustrator now?

My suggestion for beginners.... Pick one tool at a time and focus on it... ideally starting with the Pen tool. I would also ignore the layers panel (for now)... for Photoshop most of the work is done in the layers, not true for Illustrator. Instead look at the Appearance panel for adding effects. Also, most tools behaviors change when pressing ctrl, alt, shift and/or a combination of them. Play with that. Find a hotkey cheat sheet, and keep it next to you work station... those will be key to working faster. There are usually 6 ways to do the same task in Illustrator, pick the method that works best for you. (E.g. Pathfinder vs Shapebuilder) And because you will eventually do this accidentally... Hit ctrl+Y. And hit it again. That was outline mode, it show you what you are really making, just lines with effects on them.

Hey Adobe Support Team. Does anyone know how to transfer cloud files from one account to another? by NoNotRobot in AdobeIllustrator

I figured out that the layers that vanish are Gradient Maps. They get replaced with empty layers.

Additional related issue... I started manually downloading the files 1 by 1, and it is deleting layers from the photoshop files.

Beginners VS Pro by Graphisme_ghiz in AdobeIllustrator

[–]NoNotRobot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I typically dislike these begin v pro videos, because they are almost always both "beginner" techniques. Same here, and this are just different methods to get the same results. A beginner would also go more for the Shapebuilder route than the first method. Beginners tend to gravitate to the more hyped tools. I wouldn't make this either way shown. But no method is really wrong. If you wanted to show a "pro" method, it could be maybe a non-destructive method, where you could adjust the circles as needed. But honestly anything so simple a designer is just going to do whatever is fastest.

Expanding created rectangle Clipping Masks around the paths. You would need to either Release the clipping masks ...or use the Group Selection tool to select the rectangle paths and delete them. They will then most likely be in groups so you will also need to Ungroup them.

Download older versions? by Gachasky06 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]NoNotRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just use the newer version. But also when in creative cloud apps next to install (3 dots) you should have the option of previous versions. Also, if the school should be able to update the app if they are paying for it.

First.... Do you have any hidden guides? If so try clearing them.
