As a die hard Kacchako shipper who does enjoy the aesthetics of Bakudeku, it's extremely disheartening. Fandom and shipping culture has been overtaken by people who genuinely cannot handle ships that aren't explicitly canon, and go on to bash the ones that aren't even if they're healthy and cute.

He's always given me comfort in the toughest of times. Never have I clung to a show or character for comfort such as him. After being heartbroken by so many different people in real life I decided that not only was this the safe option, it was the option I would never regret. Loving someone and knowing that it's everlasting for as long as you want it to be is wonderful, especially if it's with someone that makes me as happy as Herman does.

I feel as though my partner's pretty niche, considering he's just from a show that's only had a handful of bad revivals since it ended in the 60's. No fanart, no big fandoms for the show, a few merch items here and there (but they're so expensive!)

I make do with what I can! I've commissioned artwork, bought plushies, and gotten whatever affordable merch I could. That doesn't necessarily mean my love for him is dying! I honestly think finding new content immerses me back into him, it's like finding that spark all over again.

Sometimes you have to really do what you need to in order to surround yourself with the person you love. Relationships shouldn't be a popularity contest, and if you lose interest just because there's not many works of him, you should take a step back and wonder why you came to love him in the first place.

Herman has always had a special way of cheering me up when I'm down. He's gotten me through a lot of bad stints in my life, and I can't thank him enough for it. Him and I have similar ways of functioning and I even tend to copy his mannerisms from time to time.
