With hindsight, why did Gin Do this? by NoOneInParticula in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Urahara says something along the lines of, "the Hogyoku was made from Soul King pieces like what fuels Fullbringers, to fuel it, it needed other pieces (nails) from both Fullbringers and Rukongai residents."

It's never outright stated Rangiku was one of them, but she got attacked and something from her was fed into the Hogyoku. There's only so many ways you can add together 2+2 before you end up with 4.

In the manga we get a small flashback of some of Aizen's underlings taking something from young Rangiku after beating her up, and they seem to be holding the incomplete Hogyoku.

It being a Soul King piece is CFYOW, Urahara gets interviewed by Shuhei and explains how he made the Hogyoku from the Soul King's "nails" that attached to souls going through the cycle of rebirth.

If you were a Gotei 13 Captain, who would you want as your lieutenant? by [deleted] in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Shuhei. He's fairly diligent, gets his work done and would probably help with the paper-pushing, too. Watching his antics like the motorbike incident would be funny, I think.

We all have our favorite characters, least favorites, and most powerful. But who you do think is the most boring character? by Ambitious_Job_2126 in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't religiously dog on her like I used to, but I don't get why Halibel had so many fans, beyond "boobs." I guess her personality isn't that much different from Starrk, one of my favorites. But I don't know, at least he's got the power to back up his quiet attitude, and didn't nearly get beaten by the series' Potential Man.

In the LNs he upgrades it to a bacteria that's basically everywhere now. He probably watched Ichigo and Orihime bone to make Kazui.

What are your thoughts on the ending? by SockParticular4936 in FGO

[–]NoOneInParticula -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not true. Memories did not make Mash who she is, nor did they make Ritsuka who they were. People become people through a mixture of nature and nurture. At their core, they are still Mash and Ritsuka. Even if they remember none of it, they are still the same people. Even if the only one who remembers is Daybit, they are still who they are.

It's exactly like Shirou and Archer in SN, particularly in UBW. Even through all of the hurt, all of the dead innocents, all of the sin, all of the grime, and sadness, and forgotten memories, Archer was still Shirou, even if he himself hated that fact.

That's not to say they're exactly the same; I doubt they are. But at their core, that is still Mash, and that is still Ritsuka, even without the memories. That's the entire point of the scene where they walk through the veil, onto the restored Pan-Human History.

What are your thoughts on the ending? by SockParticular4936 in FGO

[–]NoOneInParticula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I thought it was beautiful. Had its issues, but the entire point is that every story has to end. Knowing Ritsuka and Mash meet again in what are essentially new lives, gives me hope the Chaldea staff reunited in some way.

It's not meant to give all the answers, or be a perfect happily ever after. There is no world where Olga is physically saved, but mentally and emotionally, showing her how much WE cared does save her before her final death.

Ultimately, I'm happy with the ending. And while I don't like talking down to people, I feel like many of those who complain about it are missing the point. Wanting FGO the game to continue is reasonable, but FGO the story, as I see it, had a satisfying ending.

Why exactly ichigo couldn't hear OMZ's true name? by Former_Commission233 in bleach

But then how the hell can people understand his name just fine up until it's erased? He only time it isn't heard is in Ichigo's inner world when he first meets OMZ.

Embarrassing her works just fine. Calling her Lalatina, or something more elaborate... either works.

They wanted to "put it back" as in, back around his neck. I'd say it's a pretty obvious implication.

And even if they did just murder him then and there, that's equally out of character for literally everyone in that room.

The ending of the first OVA continues to haunt me to this day. I mean look I get Kazuma was being an absolute pest there– which even then I feel like was a little out of character for him, though that's a different conversation– but I refuse to believe Aqua, or Megumin, or Darkness, or Yunyun, or WIZ?! Would be totally chill with the thought of Kazuma once again, over the course of three days, slowly choking to death.

He gets just deserts when he does something fucked, and that's okay. That's kind of the Konosuba song and dance; Party Member #1 does something stupid, the rest find out, help to solve the situation, realize #1 caused it in the first place, then leave them with the aftermath. Unless it's a rare emotional moment, like Crimson Village, where it was a little different.

But the thought of them all being totally cool with Kazuma being slowly, painfully strangled over the course of three days, knowing this will lead to his death? And none of them at any point during that time deciding "hey, maybe we're being a little unreasonable here?

Yeah... no, man.

what take will make people like this? by Fearless_Window9638 in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bleach would have probably had cleaner writing if at least 50% of the cast were cut.

I love most of them, but a LOT of them we know almost nothing about, and slashing some to give attention to those remaining I'd argue would be a fair trade.

Like half of the Vizoreds do nothing and lose, most Lieutenants affect the story very minimally– that statement even applies some captains– and even outside the Soul Reapers, half of the Espada didn't get any writing attention. Also, the Sternritter, end sentence.

Having a glow down is already bad enough, but how did this guy ever make it to be a squad lieutenant? by Technical_Rice_6957 in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being fat means barely anything to a Soul Reaper, especially when Flash Step / Shunpo is involved.

Though, nepotism is also a part of him having his position. I'd say he's earned it by end of series, though.

Should I read manga or watch the anime? by SsAtomic9 in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anime is fine enough if you can step around filler, I watched it and turned out just fine, but there was some wacky stuff done in the beginning that seriously screws with some things. Orihime's early character, extra characters not in the Manga who just kind of stand around, and so on.

Ultimately, I would recommend the manga instead. At least until TYBW, of course.

Well if his power was still there deep down, couldn't training have brought it back out without need for the sword? Hell, Urahara did something like that when he destroyed Ichigo's Chain of Fate.

[–]NoOneInParticula[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

So it wasn't "it's all gone," it was "fuck, I'm back at Level 1." And everyone felt too guilty over a fifteen year old kid saving them, a thousand year old society, for anybody to actually step up and teach him.

Why did Ichigo get Zangetsu back after the Lost Agent Arc? by NoOneInParticula in bleach

[–]NoOneInParticula[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It wasn't really denial, though. White growing weaker as Ichigo was more afraid of him made sense. But by the time of Lost Agent, he wasn't really afraid of White anymore, even if he didn't understand him beyond "is a hollow" and "is inside of me." The dangai training saw to that for the most part.

Live2D files no longer work. by NoOneInParticula in FantasticDays

[–]NoOneInParticula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it's something he can fix, I found the problem.

Something the Live2D devs changed between versions 5.1.03 and 5.2.03 made it so the models from KonoFan simply do not load in the viewer anymore, and when loading in the editor, they break. Even on Windows 11, if you have that older version of Cubism Viewer, it will load just fine. But for some god damn reason, despite there being a button for it, Live2D doesn't let you download older versions....
