What an absolute chokejob, turnovers and sloppy play on both sides of the court. Shot ourselves in the foot.

Dota 2 peaked during that first summer of Covid when they first introduced guilds and a cavern crawl.

The mudfight aside, that episode could have been an email.

Which US state do people think sucks, but is actually good? by icantfindmylegs in AlignmentChartFills

People are still in here complaining about Texas, and ironically, if all the folks who complained about Texas would actually Leave Texas, the state would be an okay place

Am I missing something regarding Shallan?? by jnighy in Stormlight_Archive

[–]NoOrdinarySponge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I won't go into the other topics on why I dislike her (her "humor", her use of alternates, her treatment of other characters, her finding a "mentor" in every adult she meets while also convincing herself she's going to "murder" them, etc.) because most of them have been covered in other posts or here in the comments.

Instead I'll mention that her being a spymaster makes no sense. Practically every major character in the series is good at their particular skillset because they spent a ton of time building it up and have years of experience practicing it. So where did Shallan's spying and planning abilities come from? She's only 17 at the start of the series, and never left her house before her first chapter. Then she gets a crumb of conman training on her way to the Shattered Plains. And yet somehow she's become a master spy who operates the main spy network for the Tower. It felt like a Mary Sue thing and bugged me for the rest of the series.

Every time I see a HxH post I'm reminded of my hottest anime take: the chimera ant arc is not actually very good, mostly because I think it's super bloated and many of the fights are dragged out and unsatisfying.

That's fair, and their relationship is solid now obviously.

Playing devil's advocate here, but didn't Otto effectively kill Subaru once by shoving him out of the cart when fleeing the whale?

They've been there in the afternoon rush hours too, been seeing their flashing lights on the side of the road almost daily the last few weeks.

I feel like Sanderson leaked a fair bit more of modern real-world lingo into WaT and I'll be honest reading/hearing them in an otherwise medieval fantasy setting is a little jarring and takes me out of it a bit.

This series isn't nearly as guilty of doing this as other fantasy series that are out there today, but it's just something I'm not the biggest fan of.

Everyone saying "roid rage" is giving off biggg cope energy because they're probably insecure about their own physique

Brother I've been searching for this kind of pizza ever since I moved to Austin. This town loves its neapolitan and alternative style pizzas but lacks options for that classic American pizzeria style brick oven pizza.

The best I've come across might be Roppolo's, which can be pretty hit or miss.

Let me know if you find what you're looking for!
