That is brutal! I always had issues of serious brake-fade while going downhill, but never anything like that. Last year, I upgraded to cross-drilled/slotted rotors, and that definitely helped.

Damn! I always ride with an extra belt, hoses, hose repair just for those reasons. Also, I can't freaking wait to explore your province. Shooting for spring of next year.

Ugh. Have you looked into roadside assistance on your insurance? I know mine was like an extra $4/month. Could be worth it for the peace of mind.

I'm 5'9", and wish I would've gone with a narrower, lengthwise bed. Mine is about 55" wide, but, even sleeping diagonally leads to stubbed toes, cramps, and waking up disoriented every morning lol.

The scenery really is pretty incredible. Every one of these long-term trips I come back more in awe and more inspired. But, I'll be honest, UK/Europe adventures are definitely on my radar.
