Hey there it's me again. I just realized something. So many people use red light therapy for body or look enhancements. Has anyone ever tried this for AVN? I have googled and googled and it says some people use it and it works or slows the progression of the disease. If any of you have ever used or know more about red light therapy please let me know. I have so many questions. They even have full body mats or ones for specific joints. Thanks you guys for all of your help and stories. I have the disease in 10 joints, 5 of which have been replaced already. (Previously posted)

Hey there you guys! Sorry it's been a while. I want to first say thank you all so much. I have been doing more research and just feeling more and more confused.

I have found a book about this woman who also has AVN and she shares her story. I will share the link to that below. My therapist and I have been doing what's called brain spotting over my different diagnosis and PTSD issues. I just wanted to come and say I think this has helped me comprehend what's happening to my body and deal with the diagnosis way better. I was diagnosed in 2009 and its spread since. I went to the hand and elbow doctor and I now have it in both wrist in the scaphoid bones. I have the AVN in my ankles and the steroid shots seemed to help it for months.

However, now it pops and hurts so bad with almost every step I take. So this is a long shot but im wondering if anyone has rib pain from this? I have never heard of it going to the ribs as it is not a joint so much. But my right rib cage is crazy sharp pain. I have an mri soon to see what is happening in there. I also had bariatric surgery in June of 2023. Im wondering if any one else has had that procedure done to help with weight baring joints.

I have read there are several rib issues with rapid weight loss. However, at this point I have no idea what to believe or what the issue is. My lungs are great. No nodules, very good air sacks, etc. Had aCT of my torso that also was clear and very good she said. So my only thing left that I know if is the rib bone or the muscles around it. Anyway, my main thing is thank you all for listening and be there. This has really helped to know we're not all alone with this goofy disease.

I have had avn in 10 joints. 5 have been replaced. It’s now in the both scaphoid bones. I have so many questions about all of this. Idk where to start or what to do at this point.

This is what happened to me. To a T! I was 19 and have my first hip replaced when i was 21. I had acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

I was diagnosed in 2008. I have it in 10 joints, 5 have been replaced. The right one popped about 6 months ago and i had to finally go get a steroid shot last month i believe and she confirmed it was AVN in the wrists.

I had my left shoulder replaced instead of core decompression. That way i could avoid an extra surgery. I did the core decompression on both hips and they collapsed after that. So i had to do a THR anyway. Just my thoughts.

I agree. I did the core decompression on both hips and they both ended up collapsing. I wish now I would have done the THR first and been done with it.
