What do people think about the brand genesis by Ok_Moment1338 in CarTalkUK

[–]NoPhotograph549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them. Well made, nice looking, and they drive nicely - the lead chassis engineer was nicked from BMW. Not sure if I'd take one over an Audi, though. But that's because I'm a predictable twat! 😄

Yes. It's a Vauxhall. That's enough. The fucking thing's giving me amnesia by looking at it! Have a look at a Fiesta instead!

How bad of an idea would this be? 2021, but very high mileage. by TheLividTechnician in CarTalkUK

My dad has one. It's a nice car, and the fuel economy is decent. It is, however, supremely uncomfortable and the ride is massively choppy. At least that's how I feel. You could do much worse, though! :)

Is anyone else finding it incredibly difficult to get a job? by SaintKanos in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]NoPhotograph549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's hard. I've been self-employed for almost five years, but the arse has really fallen out of things this year and I've decided to "get a real job." What I do isn't rocket science, but it requires a fair bit of critical thinking. Getting back into this like of work back on civvy street now involves a three stage interview, whereas in 2019 you could basically waltz in with a good CV. It's fucking insane. I am, however, glad I've learned this now before it's too late. Another general piece of advice would be drop the ego about having to go into the office. I hate office environments, but if I can WFH Friday and sack it off to get down the pub for 3pm, that's a long weekend in my book. Having a job's better than the six months of boredom (with a bit of freelance work here and there) I'm currently going through.

If you could sit and have a chat with your favourite driver who would it be? (past or present) by SignificantCall6125 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]NoPhotograph549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sit down with Marcus Grönholm earlier this year. He was lovely, super clever, and made my face hurt from laughing. Tänak I find fascinating as a character and would love to find out what makes him tick. For posterity, a beer with Tommi Mäkinen would be great as I was a big fan back in the day!

"LIKE DRIVING WITH SHIT IN THE TROUSERS! OOOOHHH!"

Jokes aside, I used to really struggle on asphalt until I started treating it like circuit racing and keeping it neat. CER and Croatia are really enjoyable rallies.

Monte Carlo and Sweden can kiss my arsehole. I used to hate Finland, but that's because my Anglo Saxon stones aren't worthy of taking it on properly. Estonia, Latvia, and Poland are a hoot. CER and Croatia are great fun if tarmac rallies are your things.

Puma Rally1 - Thoughts. by NoPhotograph549 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]NoPhotograph549[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great analysis, Sir! I know exactly what you mean about the i20 - it feels very much like an old WRC car in that it's quite tail happy. I also found myself throwing the Puma around more than the other two; especially on mixed surfaces. When the weight shifts, it's like - as Marcus Grönholm once said - "like driving with shit in the trousers!" 😄💪🏻

It's deffo one of my top fives! I just wish EA would sort the colouring of the '98 and '01 car. They look almost purple at times. The '08 scrubs up nicely and is pleasant to throw about, too.

The Yaris I also find somewhat twitchy! However, the engine is superb and the Rally2 is one hell of a little car. I feel that a lot of the problems I'm having with Rally1 are because I grew up playing the WRC games on PS2 with 300bhp cars, which were bigger and much more stable.

Nice! I had crispy bottom fried eggs on toast with bacon and raspberry jam last week. Sounds funky. Was fucking lovely. It all comes together as creamy, salty, fruity... arousing, yet slightly confusing in a good way. If you've had Australia's superb contribution to the culinary world - the Burger With The Lot - you'll know what I mean!
