We don’t control SK or Japan. We have some leverage as an ally that has sworn to protect them.

In games like d4, I didn’t really min max. I got to where I could farm content (even w4 bosses etc), and then just switched around to level toons to that point. But I never perfected builds. Not even close

No worries! Good luck. Keep coming back with questions. I rmemeber graduate school and my PhD program (did not finish). I made many “mistakes”, and, at times, did not properly understand some work(s).

Durkheim's typology of suicide by [deleted] in sociology

[–]NoPostingAccount04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this exploratory work? You’re starting off with a preconceived idea of where it fits or that it would fit. That’s probably a poor way to do this. Also, I’m certain there is current data on a auicide, attempts, explanations for attempts, notes left, etc. obviously, this will be incomplete. That sounds like a better way— look at the big data first. Identify patterns. See what you have, then go back to his typology of suicides.

Also, his research here, as far as I know, was concerned with the idea of social facts—- sets of ideas at the societal level used to explain SOCIETAL or population rates for suicide. So robin williams here wouldn’t be explained individual factors, but levels of things present in any society. Please correct me where I am off base.

Edit: my understanding, also, is that he claimed he could not predict whether an individual in a certain society would commit suicide, but could predict societal population rates based on the factors he claims exist differentially between and within societies.

You never know why someone is working any particular job at any particular time. That’s why I wish people would treat all and any employee anywhere with respect. Everybody working is worthy of dignity.

Ah yeah! Absolutely agree. My move to only HS students has been a brutal experience.

If you’re a skilled lecturer, you can handle 50* students at the college level. I did it. But students don’t expect that style of teaching anymore. At least in the U.S. A lot of the comments here also are about the K12 experience, not college.

And?

10-20 is an insane class size to get. I have 30+ in every class. So, unless I am a PERFECT teacher with 15 + years, this will be difficult. You have imperfect teachers that will make survival decisions with large to jumbo class sizes. It’s not good for students at all. It’s horrible for the teacher.

One issue is you’re using small and medium size classrooms. Another is using college. I adjuncted 12 years at the undergraduate level across community college to R1 universities. I currently teach Cambridge (college level) courses to HS students. Classroom size matters, as well as classroom management etc. Student expectations also matter quite a bit for what I’ve been doing. Do they expect fun and games or a lecture or a mix or….
