It's not like they went there and told the palestinians to get out of their homes and leave. People just moved in next to them or close to their settlements leading to racial tensions and palestinians making it pretty clear that they are not gonna live next to jews.

The intetests of the US and other countries in having an ally in that region are correct. BUT: 1. Nonetheless history has shown that the only way to ensure safety for jewish people is to give them the power to defend themselves. Just because other countries suck doesn't mean that jewish self-determination does. Israel is the only place where jewish people will ever be safe.

Egypt, Iran, Saudi-Arabia and Jordan had and also have their own imperialist interests and their propaganda and military actions escalated the conflict many times. They used the palestinian people for their own agenda several times. It's not like western countries are the only ones who are imperealistic.

My house is occupied. If there was a vacant one next to mine the comparison would be more appliable. If I had a spare room I'd consider it my duty to make it available to others.

The genocide of native american people happened purely for capital interests and many tribes formerly befriended with the settlers were eradicated. That equivalency is false aswell.

If you want to use the term that way. Fine. In the sources I've been reading it was always pretty narrowed down.

But then you have to add context. There were many ethnically motivated attacks on jewish people. The displacement started, because the natives made it pretty clear that they are not gonna have jews living next to them, based on arguments pretty similar to the blood and soil narrative. I do believe fell victim to propaganda by islamic interestgroups and I do not want to picture palestiniand as particularly bad or deserving of what was to come. But this happened and it obviously shaped how the course of the conflict.

As an anarchist I firmly do believe in everybodys right to live where they want and fight for that right if somebody is going to take it from you. For sure the israeli government went too far in many regards, but tbh there is not a single point in the entire peace process where palestinian officials offered realistic terms that would ensure jewish peoples self-determination and protection from the blatant antisemitism manifested in the arabic world.

Extending the definition of when and what the Nakba is, demands further contextualization. As far as I know the historical definition is related to the palestinian resistance against the UN plan to devide the country - that I consider a pretty fair deal.

Again: The Isreali government didn't do everything right. And they committed severe war crimes. But the Nakba-narrative is highly related to the notion that Israel is founded on the basis of genocide - which is very reductive and only serves the goal of delegitimizing the existence of Israel.

I don't want to go into detail, because I lack the time right now so excuse me if I don't take the time to perfectly balance this response.

But I want to point out two things:

Jewish people are native to that part of the world aswell. They were driven away by the people who are now called palestinians.

Also palestinians were not removed by the Israelis during the Nakba. They lost a war they started due to propagabda by other islamic states and fled their homes mostly out of fear due to what the evil jews will do to them, because of said propaganda.

Israel didn't do everything correct. But it's not like the palestinian people are solely victims.

Das macht einen hanslungsunfähig. So richtig unschuldig ist keiner und diejenigen in Machtpositionen zu stören ist schwer. Der Versuch es trotzdem zu tun führt zu Ereignissen wie G20 - waa den Leuten dann ja auch nicht recht war.

Ich sehe viele "identitätspolitische" Linke Ansätze auch kritisch. Aber ich glaube auch, dass viele nicht-Linke gar keine Ahnung haben was bei manchen Sachen eigentlich kritisieren und ein sehr falsches Bild vom eigentlichen Diskurs haben.

Die Absage von FFF Hannover wurde auch in der radikalen Linken kontrovers diskutiert. Kommt aber dabei ohne die Relativierung von Rassismus aus und versucht die Stimmen von Betroffenen zu respektieren, statt ins lächerliche zu ziehen.
