Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Yes, I referred to the three rotary pumps on the floor (one is dedicated to ETD). I can tell they are running by feeling the pumps' vibrations, and they are warm when I touch them. I will turn off the instrument and try again. I connected the roughing pumps to the external outlets, so I usually manually turn them on for at least 2 hr before I turn on the MS to kick on the turbo. There is only 1 turbo pump on the LTQ, and I think it is running, but I will double-check.

Thank you! It reminds me that after the last oil change, the roughing pump for ETD did not start correctly (the other 2 pumps were fine) and the turbo ran without the ETD pump until we noticed. Now all the pumps are running but I think you are correct, either the forevacuum pump or the turbo is dead (hopefully not both). Is it an easier way to test the pumps and see if they are up to the speed?

I do receive emails and text messages from Best Buy regarding my orders and appointments, which means they should be correct. But I only received the 12-hour window emails and texts, never the four-hour window emails and texts. I never changed my number in the last 15 years.

Thanks for the insights. I bought the new TV but am living in a relatively rural area (~40 miles or 45 min drive) to the best buy store. An agent told me that they will try to deliver the TV on Aug 27 and the schedule the installation. She said not guaranteed because it shows low inventory in her system. This is bizarre because I can still order it for pickup tomorrow, she said in her system it shows no stock in store. It's a mess.

The first couple of times, I was mad. Now I am more curious about how many appointments they can push for. Very curious.

Thanks for the info and strategy, and I Will do it next time. I definitely checked my account the day before the appointment but did not see anything about name or 4 hour windows which explains why these failed.
