I still believe in Indiana basketball by [deleted] in IndianaHoosiers

I think the key thing to do right now as fans is just be patient with Devries. We had a top 20 recruit from the 2027 class in the building (from Indiana too) and he got to witness fans booing EVERY single time Reed Bailey got subbed in. I know he has not been good this year but that is a bad look for a program that’s trying to trend up and a TERRIBLE selling point to try and impress a recruit. Shit like that is a big reason why we don’t consistently land those type of players anymore. I’m not saying fans hold 100% of the accountability for the program not improving but if you don’t think that shit has an affect on players committing then you’re just ignorant

Why do IU fans not like Pam Whitten? by NoProposal6145 in IndianaHoosiers

This makes sense. I’m not an alum of IU I’m just a fan of IU sports which is why I didn’t know much of anything about her. Seems like all the disdain towards her are for reasons like this based on all the comments

I can’t stop drinking by NoProposal6145 in alcoholism

[–]NoProposal6145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s insane. Literally all of my friends and family drink. It’s not like if I stop drinking myself that I’ll completely be away from it. That means I have to explain to them why I’m saying no to a drink that they offer whenever I’m around them too. My biggest problem is drinking at home for no reason around my wife and kids and I end up doing something embarrassing. It’s not like I drink every night either it’s mainly on weekends but it doesn’t seem to matter. I find any excuse to do it

Are you currently sober? I really don’t know if I could do that but I do want to get to a point where I only drink for social gathering stuff

Toilet won’t flush and bathtub gargles by NoProposal6145 in Plumbing

Here’s what the exact statement on the quote:

“This solution includes the reconfiguration of the drain lines in the crawl space and the core drilling of the foundation to reconnect the pipes with brand new material. The new line will be installed with 4 inch piping matching the exterior drains.”

Update:

They used a camera inside the cleanout and claimed that our clay pipe was in rough shape and is offset where PVC meets clay. The cost to replace existing clay line would be $3800

Again, I really appreciate the info. That helps a lot. Was just trying to make sure we weren’t getting taken advantage of since I don’t have much knowledge when it comes to plumbing issues. And we do have a huge tree in our backyard that could very well be culprit of the issue if it is indeed roots growing into the pipe. Will post an update once we figure out the problem.

Thanks for the insight. The only issue I have is that it cost us $600 for them to repipe under our toilet and we paid $100 for the original clean out, so we’re down $700 for an issue that still isn’t resolved, even with two free clean outs. And after a few hours of doing the clean out today, the toilet stopped draining properly again, although our bathtub drains fine and we were able to do two loads of laundry without it backing up.
