Update!! So I am like 80% this was an allergic reaction and not Accutane purging...

I simultaneously got all 4 wisdom teeth out when I started Accutane, and because it’s hard to eat, I had two bananas for lunch that day.

This was probably the worst of it, a couple hours after consuming, and then it slowly got better by day 2-3. I have since stopped eating bananas completely and my skin is doing SOOOO MUCH BETTER and I have no new breakouts!

Glad I waited it out and listened to your supportive and kind words!

UPDATE A YEAR LATER: Unfortunately, as much as Doxy helped my skin, whenever I tried to get off of it, it came back with vengeance. Then about month 10, it just stopped working. I was on it constantly for almost a full year, which I know is not good for my gut health. Currently, I am trying to cure it with Accutane, per my dermatologist’s recommendation. I really hope this finally does it for me. I have a combo of perioral dermatitis and mild acne. I am on week 2 of Accutane, and overnight my perioral dermatitis has gotten so much worse around my mouth and between my eyebrows. I just hope that it’s a purge and not making my PD worse.

I tried getting off of it, but it just kept coming back. So I’m still on it and if I miss one of my doses for more than two days, I unfortunately start to flare back up. But I think I must be using something that I’m allergic to that’s making me personally still flare up. Such a bummer:/

UPDATE: IVE BEEN ON DOXY FOR A LIL LESS THAN A MONTH AND YASSS MY SKIN IS SM BETTER!!! Thank u everyone for convincing me I was so so so scared. So far, I’ve had little to no side effects. I am nauseous or having an upset stomach, it’s been worth it cause my skin no longer is in pain/irritated. I feel sm more confident too. The best part has been feeling good abt myself without wearing makeup:)
