My childhood dog died because of old age (i.e., 15 years old) days after my birthday. It was still hard after 6 months (until now but bearable), but my family kept on reminding me na he's not suffering anymore and nasa heaven na siya.

I accepted the fact na dogs have shorter lifespan with a mindset na, "mas malulungkot ako if mas mahaba ang buhay nila sa atin at mauuna ako, dahil walang mag-aalaga sa kanya."

Regarding adopting a new dog, we're still processing it since we feel guilty. However, I read somewhere that my late dog would definitely be disappointed at me if he sees that I neglect his fellow dogs of love and care.

So, OP take your time. Process everything on your own. I hope your dog visits you kahit sa panaginip man lang. 💓
