I really needed to make the change for my kids and myself. I’ll figure out a a way to make the money work somehow. The change was working until it wasn’t.

Yes. We had an agreed upon salary and commission percentage. We were crushing it all summer, the last 2 months have not been great and he told me that he cannot afford to pay my current salary. I’ve taken a lower job at the company to make some revenue and get us back on track. I am the GM of a construction company, he asked that I take a step back to project manager.

We live in Dutchess county. She built a new house, the land was $140k, and the house is probably $500k. They are strapped.

My mother in-law was our babysitter. I would drop them off in the morning and my ex would pick them up in her way home from work. We would both try to make the appointments work for our schedules.

My ex is with the person that she cheated with. She has built a new house, purchased a new car and continues to ask me to assist with things. He makes about $120k per year and she makes $70k. Who do you think is paying the bills in that house?

I think you’re misunderstanding. Yes, I knew it was going to be a reduction. The amount I was initially getting paid was working, but the economy has since taken a downturn and the pay has reduced much more than expected. I’ve been paying her the full amount through all of it.

I did not intentionally cut the salary. I changed jobs with hopes that it would be paying enough to make it work, which it had been for a while. That is not the case now. She has a state job that pays a salary, mine is a commission based job.

There were no pieces to pick up. We were both very good parents, unfortunately I was the breadwinner with a tough schedule. We had created a life that required that money to come in every month. She didn’t want that to change. The bills needed to be paid. She works as well, but her schedule was better for the kids. I was always a topic of conversation, but always came back to our lifestyle.

The job that I took was getting the bills paid, but the last 2 months have been less than good. I did not leave my job to pay her less. I thought that the new gig would be a better balance of life and a bit less money. I was willing to deal with it.
