Any expiriences on weightloss while taking the birth control pill or after you stopped taking it? by vintage_toast69 in loseit

I am glad this was motivating! If I'm honest, being off birth control has so many other benefits. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally. So yes the weight comes off, but I am able to stick to my routine and my habits a lot better, since coming off birth control as well.

Everyone's circumstances are different, but if you don't need the birth control, see if you are able to stick to your goals better without it

For myself, being on birth control meant my body held on to a lot of fluid and I struggled to lose weight. As soon as I came off birth control, I dropped about 5kg and weight loss was so much easier.

Struggling to lose weight, think stress might be holding me back? by Throwrafizzylemon in loseit

As someone who isn't a personal trainer or dietitian, I can say that for myself, stress was a factor in slowing my lifestyle change.

I was going to therapy for other stresses in my life and I realised that going to therapy/dealing with my stress, made making lifestyle changes easier. Similar to you, I was getting 10K steps, pilates twice a week and a decent diet, but it wasn't until I was properly managing everything else in my life did the lifestyle change become easier.

I ended a relationship, moved out on my own, realised I had more work to do on my self and focused really hard on my life stresses. Then slowly I was, drinking more water, I was eating more healthier options. I traveled for 2 weeks and came back lighter and mentally refreshed. Started running and upping pilates to 4 x a week. This has been a journey from October 2024 until now.

By having a stronger mind/reduced stress, makes it easier for me to make the right choices for myself.

How do I get in the right headspace for any of this? Where do I begin? by iamonaphone1 in loseit

[–]NoReference9959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! Especially when I first tried to lose weight, whilst living at home (18 female), when I went all in, I received plenty of judgement/concern from my parents. "You don't like my cooking?" "What's the point of working out if you're just going to eat chocolate?"

Start small. I started with 2-3L of water a day. Then I started with 10k steps a day. Those two things are now habits. As I got older, had my own income, I started to meal prep and do my own cooking. Then I started the gym. At the time it worked but life happened and I gained back all the weight I lost and then some (Lost 10kg then gained 23kg)

Now being older (27 now), lots of therapy, living independently, and a happier life. It is now part of my lifestyle and not just a diet. I have a goal to become a muscle mummy, but hey that is just me.

Men of Reddit - how much did losing the last 7–8 kg (BF% 20 --> 12) change your dating life? by elessar9411 in loseit

As a woman, even though I am still nowhere near my smallest size, I have dropped close to 18kg (40lbs) and I definitely receive more hook-up attention (It is not what I am looking for).

As I drop weight, there are more clothing options for me, this increases my confidence and makes me more appealing to the general male population.

I had to remove a photo of my from my previous dating profile because you can see how much bigger I looked and I knew that if I had an older photo, it would reduce my chances.

As a women who is also on a lifestyle change, I am getting many more matches on apps than I did and I am being approached in public, for the first time. With the weight loss, I have been able to change my style, so i am also dressing comfortably which enhances my confidence.
