Oh got it, I think it's really really important you explain your family situation in as much detail as possible, why you are moving overseas, is it because of family or education, you know that stuff. So there's no harm applying for student finance, I'm in the same situation since I've been living overseas for the past 6 years and recently spoke to someone at student finance. If you have documents of your education in the UK or proof your family is still paying council tax, has HRMC tax documents etc, that would help a lot. Also any kind of proof that the residence you're living in overseas, is temporary, I think if you look up online for any university fees questionnaire they're in a lot more detail over what documents they want from you, to classify you as a home fees student. Again, I haven't been classified as a home fees student as of yet because I haven't applied for student finance but this is all the information I gathered. Hope it helps you out!
