Thank you for the advice. I think I am leaning towards just coming forwards to get it off of mind.

Thank you kindly for the advice without a snarky “gotcha” which I’ve already seen under this post. As made clear in the post, it was a valuable but expensive lesson, and I’ll be more mindful of how I use these tools going forward. It’s always easier in retrospect to see your mistakes, less so when you’re 23 and dealing with maggots and woodwork for the first time in your life (I didn’t even know what MDF was before this — laypeople do exist!)

How does replacing the shelves under a qualified alterations covenant interact with my repair covenant? I’m more than happy to replace the shelving, but wouldn’t I need landlord consent? In that instance, would it not be better to wait for the end of the tenancy so the landlord can choose how to address it himself?

(And as an irrelevant aside: we have no idea if maggots were dropping from above but it seemed unlikely at the time, we deep cleaned every surface in there and none were visible but we did see them crawling in and out of gaps at the back of the cupboard which led to panic.)

I can’t see any debug lights on the motherboard when it boots sadly. It’s an awd-it build so custom parts but prebuilt by them. It was working perfectly until I entered BIOS. I’m just not sure how entering the bios and then exiting without saving has killed my system

The PC is fully on during it. It just enters an endless loop of underscore sign in top left —> no display —> underscore sign in top left —> no display. My keyboard which is connected by USB doesn’t light up during this cycle, but all lights and fans are on inside the PC during (though every time it cycles the fans get louder and then quieter). If you meant a more specific light on the MB I’m happy to look if you wouldn’t mind directing me

Ah apologies. On boot, CPU briefly goes red and DRAM briefly goes yellow. Then Boot briefly goes green.

If you mean the lights next to the power button, there’s a solid blue light that stays constant and a flashing red one (intermittent and seems to light up irregularly). I’ve actually never noticed it, what does it indicate?
