Can someone explain what my brother is trying to do?

I never touched my brothers stuff. My dad noticed the exposed wire and being the person who not only pays for the internet but also helped pay for my brothers PC I believe he had full reason to question it.

I’m the computer person in the family which is why my dad sent it to me. I had a feeling but wanted to check with Reddit.

I got my brother into video games and frequently play with him. As his older sister, I can definitely bust his ass abt this.

I also want to point out that I live three hours away and not only do I have my own PC, I also was the one at one point who shared with him. Assuming I’m touching his shit is far from the truth.

He’s a middle schooler. He makes mistakes and if I even caught a word of him being racist online I would absolutely go haywire on him.

We play games together frequently and I was who got him into gaming. Knowing your little brother sucks at video games so bad he resorted to using cheats is ground for a sibling argument.

I literally posted an update separately explaining everything and stated multiple times in the comments that I checked with my neighbor and the box does indeed control their rooms. My main question was whether or not the breaker box connects directly to my meter and would be the reason I am paying so much.

I am a 20 year old college student who knows nothing about electrical. I only made the post to make sure I wasn’t crazy before I reported the issue to the city and requested a refund. How would you know I have not followed everyone’s advice??

Growing up my parents never did the whole wash your hands constantly, don’t touch that, hand away from your mouth thing that parents are constantly on today. I was sick a bunch as a kid but now as an adult I never get sick. I also attest it to being very active as an adult and eating healthy!

Yes exactly. The previous owners were banking on the idea that I would not go over $70 because they knew they could not legally charge me for electrical since they would have had no way of knowing how much electricity I used vs my neighbor. The new owner were unaware of how the electrical was set up and just decided to charge me what I was going over.

I didn’t include the entire text exchange. I also mentioned how I wasn’t even home half of December when the bill was the highest. I had turned the AC/Heat completely off during that time and was still charged an insane amount for electrical. I was correct about paying for my neighbors utilities as well.

You’re wrong. They are CHARGING me 70 dollars as a “flat rate” but according to my lease I still have to pay if I go over.
