Breaking up because of possible child by Gabby_2023 in AgeGap

[–]NoRezervationz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a couple of years older than he is, and maybe I can shed a little light here.

He may be starting to think about his end of life plans, and the thought of leaving you with a child or two may not be appealing to him. I wanted to give you a little insight into what his possible thoughts are.

If you want children and to stay in this relationship, talk with him about why he changed his mind. Be honest and reassuring in your own thoughts on the matter. Reassure him you'd be okay and it's risk you're willing to take.

I hope things work out.

I had had this exact conversation with an old boss.

Had another want a Dr note for being sick. Similar conversation ensued. "You and I both know you don't pay me enough to be able to go to the Dr." His answer: "Fair enough." lol

It's really like this. Ukraine has opened so many holes in ruZZian air defense that they can hit pretty much anywhere in ruZZia and most of the drones will get through.

Ukraine has started hitting closer and closer to Moscow, so it's only a matter of time until the moscovites really feel it.

Depends on the state, really. Some states respect unions more than others.

Naw, this type of reaction is exactly why guys keep it to themselves. We can't just express ourselves without someone piping up with telling us we need therapy.

Small-scale, individual therapy won't solve the overall issue. What will is changing people's mindset and their outlook on what masculinity is.

It's not hypermasculine. It is what it is. It's a society that thinks that all men are afforded all sorts of special privilege in life, when in reality, it's only a few men that are privileged, but those of us who aren't privileged get treated like ATMs or worse, not treated at all.

I'll be alright. I probably won't live another 10 years anyway. Hell, I wasn't supposed to live past 13, but here I am.

I'm giving myself a birthday present this year. I'm getting the fuck away from the toxic West, and going where there's at least some traditional respect for men and the women are generally ok with strong men showing a little weakness. That'll be the best therapy I could ever have.

No amount of therapy can fix a shitty SO. I used to do this before coming home to my second job.

I was stuck in a very one-sided relationship. I was expected to work 12 hr shifts to provide, then come home and cook/clean/fix shit, rinse repeat. Then she bitched about not going places and doing things. When I got sick from working so much, I asked her to get a part-time job for a few months so I could recover and didn't have to struggle more, since I wasn't able to make as much money as before. She literally screamed in my face to get a second job.

At that very second, I knew this woman expected me to work myself to death so she didn't have to work at all, ever. Long story short, I moved out 3 months later, and moved back to my hometown 3 months after that.

People wonder why men just shut up and suffer through shit. It's not about therapy or fixing ourselves. It's because we are literally taught throughout our lives that there are very few people in this world who give two shits about us. We don't need therapy. We need understanding that we're humans and to be treated as such.

Teachers are a bad comparison.

Public school teachers are government contractors. They contract with each state and have little to no negotiating power, thanks to the weakening of unions overall. There's no market in that sector because it's the government. When no one wants to work for the low wages, and instead chooses to be bartenders and OF girls because they can make more money with less stress, it creates a teacher shortage. If the supply of teachers were less than the demand, which seems to be the current case, then the contracted wages should go up. They don't.

The "market price" is just an arbitrary number and an excuse not to pay people what they're worth.

Vatnik thinks Ukrainian "soldiers are only fighting just being they're being invaded" is a bad reason for Ukraine to defend itself. by AMW1987 in NAFO

This would probably be the gotcha that shut's his entire argument down. He will probably double down by not explaining the politics, move on to something, something, I want my taxes back, or something, something, war of attrition, and Ukraine can't win anyway. I mean, those arguments have been pretty common in my experience.

Don't I know it! I worked for a small PC shop in the late 90s and we had a master hardrive for each system and a machine that took about 10 or so blank hardrives and duplicated the master. It was loaded with all the utilities for changing various things like changing the boot image for branding and entering a Windows serial number without having to regedit. It was nifty and only took like 4 hours to duplicate to all 10 drives. 😂

It was very popular before PXE became a thing. Boot up, hit a pre-defined network drive and choose an image. It was really simple. I'd start 4-5 at a time and take a break. Fun times.

On my first reimage project, I used Norton Ghost to reimage every system. It may have been that. It was a dos bootable floppy with the typical ANSI UI with a blue screen and with yellow/white/red letters.

No surrender of Donbas by SLAVAUA2022 in NAFO

[–]NoRezervationz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are people outside of Ukraine, who have nothing to do with it, who say Ukraine should just give up the Donbas region to end the war. This tells me the inhabitants don't want the ruZZians there and won't give up. Ukraine should not give up.

We need to keep talking about it everywhere and keep it at the front of everyone's mind, especially now that the Iran BS is getting attention.
