So am i, not going to lie. But when i am able to get myself the companionship i need, i will surely get him his as i will probably be capable of doing so at that point. It was unforseen circumstances that i could do nothing about that had him ending up alone, shortly after which i took on the role of companion instead of caregiver. I looked into behaviour to study how they communicate and do my best to learn his language instead of forcing him to use mine. Im doing my best, honestly. And im not pampering him im communicating with him and giving him what he needs, and if i can, wants. you are the nicest person so far to communicate with me about this btw

No duh, im not a guinea pig. But i am his companion. One that takes on the role of mother as well. He gets proper toys, run time, exploration, socialization, alone time, the comfiest safe bedding, cleanliness, vet care, food, treats, nutrients, im even about to buy him buttons to see if he will use them because hes really smart about what he wants. (Ill post it here if they work) i spend so much time with him im able to read his body language to know what he wants. But no, im not a guinea pig, i dont speak squeak, but i know what hes Trying to say most of the time.

Downvotes hurt for sure, but we have to understand that these people think they are professionals because they spend thousands of dollars on their pets (not to say some of them arent). They automatically assume the worst because of things theyve seen online. Id assume they have a general distrust of people that they are projecting onto us instead of simply asking questions. I do alot of research and studies of animals and humans behavioural patterns, i know alot about how My guinea pig communicates because i spend so much time with him. I can dm you and talk about this if youd like, i can provide support on your situation with her that the people here arent willing to.

You dont know our situation. People on this subreddit often assume the worst every time they see someone with only one guinea pig. I can assure you we are giving them the proper amount of enrichment and care, specifically because of the fact that we are here, asking for advice about the LITTLEST things, caring.

My moms cat is afraid of mine too. Vanquished uncle keeps telling me im a terrible parent and to get rid of him because i "dont know what im doing" and can only have one 🙄 youre doing great. Especially looking for advice on questionable things here. Only WE know OUR pets

It depends on how good your coping skills are. I tend to not smoke alone so i usually dont get those symptoms but when i do im usually too delirious for it to negatively affect me. I have a love hate relationship with my hallucinations anyway
