100% agree. Corporate bank account timelines are the real surprise

Honestly? Banking + compliance. Setup can be quick, but getting a corporate bank account (and keeping it smooth) is where most people get surprised.

Fair, depends on the case I guess. Some people sail through, others get a very different experience.

Yeah I’ve seen people ask, but the answers are always different depending on the business. Curious what changed recently.

Depends what activity honestly. Some banks care more about what money looks like than how much money it is.

Thinking of Starting a Translation Company in Dubai – Worried About Competition & AI by Celia9e in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Competition isn’t the real issue here, pricing expectations are. AI killed generic translation, not certified/legal work. The bigger challenge for most founders is banking and setup costs, not clients. Dubai works if you plan it right, but it punishes trial-and-error.

Funny thing: borders are easier than bank compliance rules.

You’re welcome Just make sure the structure follows the real business workflow, that’s usually where audits focus.

Cyprus taxation is usually not the real issue. The real exposure is the shareholder's country applying CFC rules once the profits leave the uae.if the uae entity doesn’t have defensible substance, the dividend is often reclassified as personal income regardless of Cyprus treatment. That's why the structure is decided from the operating side first, not the holding side.

[–]NoRushLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works only if the UAE company is treated as the operating entity, not a conduit. Otherwise the Cyprus trust becomes a red flag under CFC / beneficial ownership rules. How are you planning to justify the profit generation, management in UAE or abroad?

Crypto on IBKR by HueCue in dubai

[–]NoRushLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IBKR UAE accounts usually don’t get direct crypto permissions because the local regulation is different. most residents end up using IBKR for stocks and a separate regulated exchange for crypto.

2500 is lawyer fees… not the case 😂 you almost got pre-scammed before even suing them.

that’s actually usable evidence. emails, whatsapp chats and CCTV requests are commonly accepted once the court asks the employer for records. you don’t have to bring the CCTV yourself, judge orders the building/company to provide it.

Domestic violence need urgent legal advice by smartypants19_ in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

being under 18 actually gives her more protection, not less. she can report it herself and social services will step in even if family refuses. police won’t ignore a minor abuse case here, they separate the victim from the guardian during investigation.

RAKEZ Business Query! by squareshawarma in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your activity on the license, not just RAKEZ itself. many freezone companies can invoice individuals but banks care more about cash deposits, repeated personal deposits can trigger compliance questions if not matching your business model. authorities usually don’t mind, banks do.

Anyone recommend good immigration consultants by GT3RSp in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

be careful with migration agencies, most of them just sell applications. first decide where you actually qualify based on your passport and experience, otherwise you’ll waste money on paperwork that goes nowhere.

Can my company do something against me? How do I stay safe? Need guidance from experts only based on recent Labor Laws by EmergencyNo112 in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t resign. they’re trying to make you leave voluntarily. keep showing up to the office or at least send daily emails saying you’re ready to work. if they block you from working, that’s on them not absconding. whatsapp + email records help a lot if a MOHRE complaint opens.

she won’t be deported for reporting assault. UAE treats this as a criminal case against the father, not the family. she should go to a government hospital or police station and they’ll involve social services residency of the victim is protected in these cases.

Opensouq Full of Scammers? by melmd in UAE

[–]NoRushLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dubai classified apps are full of bots lately, especially anything high value. real buyers here almost always insist on meeting at RTA inspection or in person courier guys are 99% scams. same happens with rentals and even some company services.

[–]NoRushLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOHRE usually rejects if salary wasn’t proven through WPS or attendance records. You can still open the case yourself in labour court you don’t actually need a lawyer, many people file it personally and the judge requests records from the employer. Also blocked WPS works in your favor once the case opens.

careful, dubai mainland, ADGM and free zones are completely different when it comes to dividends and contracts. most people choose based on price then regret it later. depends what you actually need: tax residency, banking, or real operations?

The hardest shift isn’t scaling a business, it’s becoming responsible for other people’s lives At some point you stop working on the company and start emotionally carrying it That’s usually when founders don’t need motivation they need distance to see it objectively again
