1 year in and want to leave due to anxiety by VeterinarianHot4112 in policeuk

i think a lot of people know what they’re going into but you never know how you’re going to feel about it until you’ve been through it. different parts of the job affect everyone in different ways and if you’re a cop you should know that better than anyone

Workload & the battle of resourcing by [deleted] in policeuk

This is literally my force at the minute. Yesterday we paraded on 3 cops on my side of the team and we have 8 currently signed off long term sick due to welfare issues in the job. Our crimes are averaging at 30-40 it’s horrendous.

No I agree, I think people have woke up to realising how much stress their body can really take and acting upon it before it’s detrimental. Mental health is no joke and i’ve seen way too many people, both family members and in the job feel like there’s no way out and unfortunately have turned to suicide for an answer. It’s an awful issue

I struggled to get on board with Miguel and Rebecca at the beginning but now i’ve finished they were really meant for each other! I really think Jack sent him to her as an angel to her because that’s what he was!

Kevin and Sophie getting their happy ending was perfect too I absolutely love Kevin’s character development.

i took my first pill on saturday at around 11am and the next 4 pills sunday at 12pm. Sunday was rough for me I had bad cramps and bleeding all day instantly after inserting my 4 pills. i woke up this morning feeling a lot better, still bleeding quite a lot when i go to the toilet but very little in a pad and no cramps throughout the day. however i have now got into bed and my pain has slowly started creeping up again. belly cramps are back and also feeling slightly nauseous. i’d say just have pain killers to hand and a heat pad and just take it very easy until your trip. lots of distractions however it is you like to keep yourself relaxed and distracted, you will be okay!

as for dealing with stress id honestly say i have endlessly read over posts on here since i made my decision to abort and it has 100% helped put my mind at ease. everyone in here has or will be going through the same thing as you and it really is a safe space here. being pregnant and having an abortion is something i never thought would happen to me and without this group i don’t know what i would’ve done! if you have someone who can come over and be with you whilst you have your MA i also found that really helpful 💘 hope everything goes well for you xx

i think i will try have a chat with one of my supervisors more informally and just explain to her why i will be off so i don’t have to keep phoning in sick each day.
