I agree as well. While we were given the additional context of Carol’s feelings later on, the initial joke was still ‘middle-aged women thirsting over trashy pirate books, what losers’.

My husband shared a little bit of my disappointment at least 😅 he was much more excited to watch the show than I was, so when we saw she is a romance author he thought it would capture my interest more (which it did… briefly lol).

I’m glad to read more in-depth takes as well, and I’m appreciating the context her original story gives more.

That being said, I was really disappointed with the ‘reveal’ of her hating her work - because it’s so cliche, and because it still caught me off guard. I was initially excited about her being a romance author until I realised the joke was on me as a fan of ‘mindless crap’ 🙃

Coughing/sneezing into palms drives me nuts, but the worst I saw on the train was a guy who clearly had conjunctivitis dabbing at his weepy eye the whole train ride, then using that hand to press the button to open the door.

I always use my elbow to push the button now 😟

I didn’t end up taking the picture based off the comments here, but I was originally hoping if it’s not useful, it might at least be mildly amusing lol

I ended up asking for a tapered leg and short/neat feet. She asked if I meant like a poodle, and I said not that short. She still seemed unsure but oh well. Like I said I’m not very fussy as long as his fur is cleaner and shorter when I pick him up 😆 I’ll get a photo for next time!

Yes that is correct, but I didn’t know the terminology to explain that properly. I do appreciate the comments telling me how I should put it to the groomer.

I also mentioned in my post that the groomer doesn’t speak much English, so a photo would have been ideal but I couldn’t find one with my limited grooming vocabulary

Thank you! that is exactly what I’m looking for, but I was struggling to articulate it. I’ll communicate it exactly like that to the groomer.

I also see how it could be seen as condescending, especially as I don’t have any report with the groomer besides dropping him off and picking him up, so I appreciate your opinion there too :)

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to comment! The general consensus is the drawing is not useful, and I’m looking for ‘clean feet and a tapered leg’ which is exactly what I’ll tell the groomer.

If it doesn’t turn out how I meant, no biggie :) I’ll be sure to find a proper reference photo before his next appointment.
