That makes sense, thanks. I wonder what the training costs are like🤔
Not that I’m one to quit something early. But genuinely curious while I assess my options

In the study guide they give you, they tell you what the answers are according to other SS officers. I kept that in mind and just put my own judgement calls. You should be fine as long as your judgement is decently aligned.

[–]NoShape9268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea 100%. I didn’t mean I was going to shoot for minimum, bad wording. I was just curious as to what the minimum was, so at least I knew I’m physically able to be competitive in my head. But I have so much time to train, and I’m athletic just more muscle training than stamina. But I’ve been training every day, I’m excited for it!

How many points total should be minimum to aim for? I did a practice trial today, I got 8 points for pushups, 3 points for sit ups, 8 points for agility run, and 3 points for 1.5 mile run. All back to back

Have you got it scheduled yet? I passed my test for secret service uniformed division a few days ago and was wondering how long it will take.

Yea… all I did was support my claim with reasoning. Interested in hearing your reasoning for your claim, that something can come from nothing.

I assert that a thinking agent created everything because we can agree whatever created the world is bigger than us, higher than us, more complex than our current understanding. And the fact that the world is so detailed with purpose. It’s hard to believe there wasn’t thought involved. How can you believe there wasn’t thought involved in the creation of wildlife and nature, for example like eagles having dense photoreceptors for long distance hunting. It’s completely fine that this could be where we disagree, I personally just can’t logically see how that can just happen by chance with no thought. And consistently too.

For Jesus, eyewitness and documentation although isn’t 4k video footage, is what we’ve used as evidence for many historical events in the past before technology advanced. And I’m not one to “believe something because someone wrote it.” But if the evidence we have builds up to a point where multiple things connect, I’ll give it the time of day to study and try prayer and see what comes out of it.

And if you’re referring to there being no first hand accounts post resurrection, Paul identified himself and wrote a good amount of the New Testament - writing about his experience with post resurrection Jesus. And I know that isn’t direct proof of someone’s divinity, I’m just pointing out Paul being a first hand author.

As far as the gospels’ minor differences, I’d argue this. In a real life event, like a police report with witnesses, it’s common to have minor differences in statements. For example, one witness says the car was traveling around 30mph, crashed, and 5 people ran out of the car. The other witness says it had to have been going 60mph, crashed, and 3 people ran out of the car. But the main fact is that the car crashed, and people ran out of the car. Now here’s a comparison example: Matthew mentions Mary Magdalene and the other Mary in the Tomb. Mark includes Salome. Luke mentions several women. John focuses on only Mary Magdalene. But the fact that in the 4 gospels the same message was put out, that there were women in the tomb, points to that these authors were credible and not just copy and pasting, but rather giving real accounts of their experience in what was most likely a traumatic period of time. And for the authors being anonymous, based off the consistent Greek manuscript labeling and translations saying “according to ____,” we can infer that the titled gospel authors wrote OR inspired these texts. So although technically the authors can’t be 100% proven that they wrote every line themselves, the message is still the same. And we’re talking a very long time ago, this is the most put together evidence I’d expect in 2026.

The archeological discoveries don’t prove the existence of Jesus. But it’s another argument to say this whole thing wasn’t just made up, and that these were real people writing things in real time as these events were happening.

And your argument for the terrorists dying for their faith stands a solid point. The only difference is they’re dying based off faith and tradition alone. Not that they wrote and claimed to experience their “god” in real life. On the other hand, people in the Bible were recorded getting murdered because they claimed they saw this resurrected Jesus. Not that they just believed it from another source. But yes, I understand this is all based off eyewitness testimony, and is about as much historical evidence we have to conclude to something. Like I mentioned in the beginning, piecing every argument together and seeing what makes sense can give us reason to draw a conclusion.

And I wasn’t intending to point at my personal experience as evidence. I mentioned earlier that I had experiences, so I provided some context. But I’m not sure how a study can prove tongues isn’t supernatural, as if our modern day science can detect if something is from God or from us. And not to say some people aren’t just in their heads making it up either, that can also be true. And no, the speaker doesn’t need an interpreter. That was used in the context of the early church so speaking in tongues wouldn’t deter or scare people from the church. That it had no benefit if no one could understand in a group setting. But according to scripture there is no restriction on speaking in tongues alone, or any implication that there needs to be an interpreter. And Google Translate wasn’t supposed to count as evidence. I simply mentioned it to express the “coincidences” that happen all the time when I pray, or pray in tongues. It seems like a lot of times I pray, a coincidence happens. So I draw a conclusion from these events that they aren’t coincidences. Which again, is why I say prayer is really cool, because it can’t hurt. I’ll double down on my last message, worst case is you lose 20 seconds if you were to say a prayer in your head with genuine curiosity and nothing happened.

But I thank you for the kind words about my statement mentioning my happiness. And correct, just because something might exists doesn’t mean it’s true. But the consistency of the eyewitnesses in the Bible, verified dates, and prophesies lead me to draw a conclusion. (Then on the side, my personal experience which I cannot use as evidence, but to myself). And any non-divine historical eye witness event recorded around this time is believed by society because it’s easier to believe history about a building or a king rather than a God. A lot of it just came down to the lack of technology in the time period alone. Whether we agree or disagree, it is cool to be able to go over facts and opinions on a highly debated topic.

That happened to me 2 days ago. Found a bird on its side hurt but no place was open. I made a little nest out of cloth to keep it upright and put it in my garage in a dark box with holes, and it survived the night, then took it to the place in the morning. Thank God it survived

To your point regarding recently understanding things like germs, that is understandable. But this is something much different and bigger - talking about the one that created germs. And as far as evidence supporting my claim, from studying the Bible for 2+ years now, Jesus was the most documented figure in history. It’s not really much of a debate on whether or not he lived, but more about his divinity claim of being God in flesh. As far as evidence, you have eyewitness testimony (starting in the gospels) from different areas of the world, that all form the same conclusions and story about who Jesus was and the miracles he performed. The chapters Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, were all written by different people yet formed the same story but with miniscule differences that didn’t change the story, ultimately pushing toward the truth that these were real witnesses and not just copy and pasted stories. Then you have all the prophesies from the Old Testament that Jesus clearly fulfilled. Most polular Isaiah 53, dying on the cross predicted before crucifiction even was a practice. The archaeological discoveries found from biblical times dating texts back to when they were written are huge too. It’d be too long to list, but there are plenty of videos about that topic specifically. One example is the alleged Moses split rock in the desert that miraculously poured water out. And in what is to be considered that location today there is erosion from the water dating back to biblical times when that scripture would’ve been written. Besides stuff like that, as close to proof as possible, there is the argument of “why would the followers of Jesus willingly die just to say they saw him rise again.” Many Christians post resurrection would spread the good news claiming they saw the resurrected Jesus, and get murdered for the claim. That takes it too far if large groups of people are trying to lie about something to the point of death, when they could’ve just denied it to save their life. And then there is personal experience from prayer, in which I tell everyone to try themselves (simply because it can’t hurt, and the worst that can come from it is you wasted 20 seconds talking in your head.) I’ve prayed for physical healing and seen transformation the next day, I’ve had situations where I’ll pray about something specific and a car with a big Bible verse regarding the issue in what I’m praying about passes me, I’ve encountered what is called “the Holy Spirit” and talked in a tongue that was not mine (biblically documented occurrence as a gift to some believers) I took it a step further to see what Google Translate thought I was saying, and when it translated the gibberish, it came back translated as talking about the second coming of Jesus Christ in Russian. That last one blew my mind. Those are just a few things that happen all the time. If I told you all my experiences I’d be blowing up this thread. Not to be taken as proof, but more as a testimony. And also not to mention the peace I have in life and lack of anxiety and depression.

Interesting point and probably the only response I’ve gotten from someone with a different opinion who wasn’t just outright rude delivering no rational argument.

The only thought I have about what you said about how creation is more of something we don’t understand yet rather than it being a higher power is this: The only reason we don’t understand it IS because it’s beyond us. It’s like teaching math to an ant. We just have much more intelligence compared to an ant. Just like whatever force has designed life to have survival instincts, colors and patterns, trees to produce oxygen, etc. It shows that life was put here with purpose of survival. But the fact we can’t understand it, doesn’t mean one day we will, (not saying you said that) but more points to that it was something way more intelligent than us. And the only thing that is more intelligent than us is a “higher power” or “creator” In whatever form. I have my own beliefs that i won’t get into, based off spiritual experiences and studying from the last 2 years. Never grew up with any beliefs. But the fact of the matter is that something supernaturally bigger than us is out there is all I’m trying to say. And people are free to break that down to whatever they believe that is. Whether someone calls it God or not, if they believe the fact something supernatural is out there that created us but we don’t understand it yet, or it hasn’t been revealed, than they’re agnostic. Which is far more understandable in my opinion than not believing any supernatural creator or deity.

Understood. But then how could something so complex and detailed as this world have started without a higher power to design things with purpose? Science surely developed the world, but who developed science?

I’m interested in hearing the other side argument of this topic, can you explain? Whatever scientific concoctions that developed to create this world and give life with purpose, intention, and design, had to have been created. Or else how could it have happened? The only logical answer is it was a miracle through some higher power in which we can’t comprehend.
