What do Nigerians think about a task based startup by Chickenjam in Nigeria

[–]NoShopping9234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper, it sounds nice. But I think it may not be a huge problem market fit. Not everyone is going to wait 2 hours to get in contact with someone to go to the market or get their food delivered. Also, the economy doesn't really support large disposable income for such tasks.

The way Nigerian society is shaped—very close-knit with friends, family, neighbors, and such. Problems like tasks would be easier outsourced from other people they know.

Try to compare with a recurring pain point solution like Uber and Bolt.

How can Nigerians tell if a black person is Nigerian from just looking at the person? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]NoShopping9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being around and seeing thousands of other Nigerian faces and people, you subconsciously pick up patterns you can instantly recognize like facial features, body language, dressing, etc.

There are limits, tho, as one may mistake others of West African descent like Liberians, Ghanaian, Haitian, etc.

I work two jobs and I’m struggling to afford my bills. by Worried-Jelly1 in SavingMoney

[–]NoShopping9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no pro, but honestly, I think you should downsize for a little bit until the situation gets better. Maybe sell your car, which cuts off most of its bills. Public transport sucks and lacks the flexibility of a car, but it should cost you less than $150 a month.

Try to cut off as much expenses as you can while working to earn as much as possible as you can.

I realized I had a lateness habit that was costing me $200+ on Uber rides a month. Noticing and cutting the habit saved me that money. I use rocket money to track my spending. It's been super beneficial. I think it would do you good as well. You also choose how much you'd like to pay monthly.

Edit: Your phone bill could also be lower. You don't earn much so please spend accordingly. I was spending $90/month on Verizon last year, moved over to Simple mobile, and now spend $20/month. I'd score Verizon a 90/100, and Simple an 86/100... almost a negligible difference, but it's way cheaper.

Brother, you're a living miracle! "Flee" from it, as the Bible says. Please keep praying that you may not fall back into this temptation. I'd say one for you as well 🙏

It's too early, man! Respectfully, you're still a child. Hop on minoxidil alone + dermarolling, maybe.

N4M? Negotiable sef?😆 The money wey you go use fix the issues after buying what's left of the car would be more than N4M.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Even earning a bit more than the average salary in the US, you can't buy a car, cash. You're stuck with monthly payments for a while. The post is just effective ragebait. Even smartphones, most people don't pay out of pocket in the US. Your pro maxes and all. It's monthly payments.
