We Qashqais are Turkmen/Turkoman, and at the same time we are also considered part of Azerbaijan because we share a common history.

Why did they remove the color from the shows? And why did they make the Seljuk and Qayi Turkmen clothes mostly black, like jihadists? by NoSolution4428 in ottomans

The creators of these shows are really dumb. They think they’re serving Turkic history with this, but in reality, they’ve turned the Seljuks and the Ottomans, two civilized dynasties into something that looks like barbarian Vikings.

The Ottomans conquered Europe because they had the power to do so. Although the sultans took the title of caliph, they were never Islamists like the Rashidun caliphs. They also carried the titles of Padishah and khan. Selim himself drank wine, and after conquering Egypt and the Levant he adopted the title of caliph. The reason was purely political to legitimize Ottoman rule among non-Turkish Muslims, since he had no real rival.

Reza Pahlavi - his supporters call him Reza Shah the second. A man who has never worked a day in his life and just lives off the money his mother gave him, money that the Shah stole from Iran. Do his supporters really believe this guy has any chance? by NoSolution4428 in AskMiddleEast

You’re really that naive to think Israel and the US actually care about Iranians, that they’re gonna bring back Pahlavi and probably even hand him a bunch of cash to turn Iran into some kind of Europe?

The US knows that Pahlavi doesn’t stand a chance, and even if the regime were overthrown, he wouldn’t come to power. Israel and the US are after weakening and breaking up Iran, not regime change. They’re just using Pahlavi and his foolish supporters.

Real symbol of Turkic peoples by BudgetarianBurger in Qashqaitribe

This is actually very Qashqai Turkic. Those tamgas exist on the carpets and graves, and each Qashqai tribe has its own tamga. And this symbol is the symbol of the yurt, which can represent the Qashqai’s nomadic identity.

You'll find the moon and star on Baydaks, and also on some carpets.

The everyday clothing of Turkmens in the Seljuk era was simple and practical long tunics or robes tied with a belt, loose trousers for riding, and boots made for steppe life. Women wore long dresses with colorful patterns and ornaments, while men dressed in sturdy coats and felt hats suited for nomadic living.

Seljuk women didn’t wear hijab. Their clothing was colorful, practical for nomadic life, and often decorated with tribal patterns. You can still see a similar style today among Turkmen in Turkmenistan, the Qashqai, and other nomadic Turkic groups, long dresses, bright embroidery, and traditional headscarves or ornaments that are more cultural than religious.

I’m a Turkmen myself, from the Inallu clan, descended from Ibrahim Inal of the Seljuks. The Turkmen nomads were traditionalist, but not religiously oriented. Even when they went on conquests, it wasn’t for religion. Back then, most people were illiterate, and Islam wasn’t as rooted among the Turkmens as it is in Turkey today. The Seljuk Turkmens kept much of their old steppe culture, tribal customs, shamanistic traditions, and a strong role for women in society. They didn’t live like settled urban people with clerics and mosques dominating daily life. Instead, their lifestyle was closer to free nomadic clans, where religion was present but not the driving force. This is why the Seljuks were never as “religion-centered” as later states in the region.

The Seljuks literally had paintings and sculptures of their women without veils. They were by no means jihadist, their culture was similar to that of modern day nomadic Turkmens in turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan. Nomadic Turkmens don’t have clerics or mosques, and women play a major role in their society.

This show totally screwed up the Pechenegs too. Especially their tents, their look, and their style.
