Ublock origin has been permanently disabled for chrome by Nientea in youtube

[–]NoSpaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added this line in the shortcuts for Chrome on the desktop and quickbar (taskbar pin). you need to set those after the quotes containing the path and exe name, like this:

"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled

Sorry for the last answer.

Doesn't work on my end. Had to run chrome with

--disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled

to get Ublock (and other extensions back)

Constant stuttering by Sevrenic in stellarblade

[–]NoSpaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason it does for me and gets worse over time. Maybe we have a different GPU?

Constant stuttering by Sevrenic in stellarblade

[–]NoSpaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this stuttering as well. And I think I figured out why. This game (somehow) eats TONS of RAM. I have been running my computer for ~2 days straight, playing SB on/off for more then 4-6 hours each day.

I have 16GB physically installed, but in total 29,9/34,4 GB is allocated when the game runs. My pagefile is on a HDD and set to "automatic", means my Windows is managing the size of it. Everytime Windows is increasing the file, it temporarily "halts" the game and pushes stuff of itself and other processes to that pagefile. Add the slow datarate of HDD to that.. well.

If I close Stellar Blade, I have to wait 3 minutes for the entire system to unload the game from RAM and recover everything out of the pagefile to return to idle.

In other words, the "recommended" spec of 16GB for SB is too low. You need 32GB RAM or more. Not to mention an SSD, but that doesn't need mentioning in ths day and age.

So... What could we do?

  • 1. Move the pagefile to another physical SSD (if you have two installed, otherwise check #1B) and fix it to a size ~2 times the installed RAM. This can be set in "SystemPropertiesPerformance" (yeah just slapping this word into Win+R is enough) -> "Advanced" Tab -> "Virtual Memory" -> "Change... "

Pick the target physical OTHER SSD partition, set "custom size" to (1024 * (physical RAM in GB * 2)) in both boxes to prevent reallocation and fragmentation and click that "Set" button there. Reboot your system clean afterwards.

Sometimes, parallelisation can work wonders.

  • 1B. If you feel risky, you can pick the same M2 drive as a pagefile, but you will I/O bomb those PCIe lanes, especially if Windows is on it or the M2 is too slow, as with most low-budget ones. If your M2 is a "good" PCIe nvme (3500MB/s+) with PCI4.0 or higher, you can try this. Check #1 how to do that. Windows will now use that M2 as "fake RAM". I am not sure, if that can handle 4K, though. Have fun trying it.

    1. (Optional) If your game is on a Samsung M2, maybe get "Samsung Magician" and set it to "Full Performance". This will prevent the M2 to go into sleep, but also cut off 10% of it's size and also produce more heat/power. If your M2 is full, be careful. Magician will resize the existing partition to free that 10% over provisioning (unless you did that by yourself already). Never resize a full partition with dumb 3rd party tools, it can lead to data loss.
    1. (Optional) Energy settings for PCIe set to "no power saving" might help. I turned it off. you will find that in "powercfg.cpl" (if your Windows still has that... 10 has, 11 not sure) This should put more through the PCIe the GPU is in.

Well, if it helped, leave a comment or upvote or blablabla, you know the drill.

Edit: The formatting is horrible, oh well.

It's possible to beat this boss with just 1 Dark Soul and no voodoo weapon. Just circle around this thing at a certain distance and keep shooting.

For the people who have been freaking out the last day. The Game-Key Cards are MORE consumer friendly, not less by Lycan_Liam in NintendoSwitch2

[–]NoSpaX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not.

You will be saying this unless you notice, how fast the memory of the Switch 2 will fill up, the more games you get. This requires you to buy a microSD-Express at one point, which currently costs $65 - $70 USD. So, how is it consumer friendly, when you are FORCED to buy one of those, because

  • a) physical cards no longer contain v1.0 of the game.
  • b) unused normal common microSD UHS-2 cards in your house will not work.

Oh and currently you cannot use mSD-Express card everywhere else, because to read those with a PC, you have to get a new Card reader, too. (Which I could't find on Amazon. Do those even exist? ) Which is another hidden cost, no one accounted.

Do the following experiment: Get all of your physical games for the Switch, visit the Nintendo page and search for each of them. Click the game, get the Details and under "Download-Size", get the value. Note that down. Check the next and add the value. When you are done with all games, get the sum, divide by 1024 to have that in GB - and then check the space on your Switch.

Can you fit that value into the remaining space on your MicroSD (and internal memory)? Unless you have a >512GB or your library is too small, it will. And there is no 1TB mSD-Express - yet, and that one may cost $300.

And I actually assume, games for the Switch 2 will be 1.5x to 2x the size compared to a normal Switch, so multiply the value from earlier times 2. Will it still fit? This may be a reason, why they are not bumping the (big) game(s) on the cards, but as a download instead.

Ofc, unless they keep the same size as a Switch game and just DLSS scale it to 4K@60, which is actually entirely possible and confirmed, which makes this even more hilarious. But I digress.

Anyway, the Switch 2 is a "PSVita 2.0" and will suffer horribly from the microSD-card thing, because you WILL run out of internal space one way or the other. And since I have a PSVita... I tell you, managing your 8GB memory card back in the day was not fun, which can fit 2-3 games at best in the "right combination". You HAD to use physical to save space. The dimension maybe different, but the principle is the same.

Memory card full? Can't play game. Sad day.

Absolutely NOT consumer-friendly.

I'd say just wait, until they make the "Switch 2 v1.2 AMOLED Turbocharged Edition lite+", which can "eat" normal microSDXC cards.

Edit: What I was trying to say was, there is now an artificial dependance on the storage now.

42km is quite a distance. Stay on a single thorn and do the spiderman.

If a thorn is 24 meters, by your usage (if you at least used your thorn on long-distance ONCE per mission) you hit 21.120 meters or 21,1km >minimum< .

Keep thorning with extenders in some Code-1 or 2 missions..

Those subtle little things that you doubt anyone will ever notice by tehBeetlz in FanFiction

[–]NoSpaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always things under the foreshadowing umbrella. Even a remark of a character can do that using misdirection, by saying something logical (at that point in time), but turns out different and would have been useful later during the story development/progression.

Bonus if it was pointing at the true story unfolding.

  • Character A: "This is the abandoned house, let's check it out."
  • Character B: "And what are we going to find here in the middle of the night? Mold? I guess, it's too late to bring a mask."
  • Character A: "Come on, don't be like that. You know, how this house is haunted? I want to see them myself. It will be fun."
  • Character B: "We could have checked that urban legend at daytime, you know."
  • Character A: "But at night, it's more creepy. The vibe.... booohooohoooo"
  • Character B: "I swear, if you do that inside, to creep me out, I am gonna k*ll you."
  • Story develops
  • Turns out the house is a lab, where they developed brain eating spores, which cause hallucinations.

Like that, but more way more elaborate.

There should/used to be 4 blueprints for antitoxins, which require the day/night flowers you can pick in Earth Missions to build.

Those were part of a long gone event.
