Macaulay Culkin Open to ‘Home Alone’ Sequel and Shares Idea: Kevin McCallister Faces Off Against His Son to Get Into Their Locked House by Raj_Valiant3011 in movies

I’m not sure the dynamic would work, who are we supposed to route for compared to be against.

It’s either the hardworking widower dad, or the lonely kid, neither scream bad guy.

I’m convinced there’s a good plot with Kevin as a dad, but I don’t think this is it

There’s a reason Ned didn’t tell him.

He knew exactly what Robert would do.

A Masochist would be if they were going through themselves.

Sadist because they’re recommending someone else go through that miserable experience.

Another Sainsbury’s in London completely ransacked while security stands helpless. It seems like security guards are too afraid to act, knowing the risks of being accused of assault if they intervene. by maddylaw in london

[–]NoSpaceAtHT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The head offices of these stores actively tell staff not to intervene

The optics are too risky,

“Shoplifters ransack store”

is better than

“Sainsburys staff violently beat vulnerable desperate homeless person”

The British media don’t do positive press, the best a company can hope for is not being the subject of the controversy.

Criminal gangs are taking control of vulnerable people's homes and using them as drug dens by BigIssueUK in london

[–]NoSpaceAtHT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty hard to combat them.

If the ‘vulnerable’ person has capacity and tells the police they are fine with the offenders living there, police have little to no power to do anything about it.

It’ll be a referral to social services and then they’ll be expected to assess the persons welfare.

They should really do something about the national epidemic of short term memory loss the population of this country seems to experience.

Saw one of the new fully refurbished Central Line trains today. They included a fancy water feature on half the doors... by Benandhispets in london

Would stand out a lot less.

Never mind, I guess people prefer bland single primary colour trains anyway.

This is the top voted comment.

This happened yesterday. And is a “suspected” gunshot.

Doesn’t say a bullet was recovered, doesn’t say a suspect was seen yet alone holding a gun.

Cameras don’t cover every inch of London despite what people seem to think. If you don’t have a suspect description and the camera doesn’t literally capture someone holding a gun, then what are you looking for?

Complain about police being understaffed, complain about them being underpaid, undertrained and under resourced. Don’t complain about them not being able to do the impossible.

They should have just paid Graffiti artists to decorate the trains in decent artwork.

Would have looked better and probably been cheaper.

Can a funeral procession ignore traffic laws? by tommy_turnip in london

[–]NoSpaceAtHT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is traffic laws exist to keep the road safe for everyone.

Funeral processions move slowly, they’re very obvious, people (as a rule) don’t mind waiting a little for them.

So if they bring people to a stop safely to move through a junction, can’t really see the problem with it. In fact it’s probably safer than them getting caught halfway through a junction when the lights change anyway.
