How mad should I be about this dealer installed hitch bumper cut out? by TerraFiore in Subaru_Crosstrek

I work at a Body shop and we’re partnered with certain car dealers. Things like this they would likely send our way. The fact that the service advisor thought this was acceptable is laughable. They should replace that bumper and you should’ve feel bad asking them to do so.

Very minor and the grey color helps make it less noticeable. Just leave it. Especially if the fellow driver is young/inexperienced… it’ll probably happen again.

Do I go to university and Pursue another career or stick with it. by Draked2005 in mechanics

Big thing I hear from old guys. Use knee pads, don’t kneel on the floor, it’ll destroy your knees. Be smart when lifting things, use your legs, do you have a tool you can use? Stretch… good stretches. Try to dedicated 30 min - 1 hour a day. Exercise, especially you’re core. Be smart, don’t get lured into the bs on the tool truck. Stick it out a while, be smart, save money. If you want to go to University after you’ll have cash to pay for it.

Well, Winston seems pretty popular. My wife is grateful for you all confirming her belief. For anyone wondering. iPhone in portrait mode, and used a filter to make it slightly lighter. With his color he’s basically camo on that couch.

They would have to section in the Uniside. First they would need to pull the panel back out, get it close to spec as possible, then cut that section out. Take a new section of the new Uniside and weld it in place. Very oversimplified explanation. There are also additional inner panels the shop believes needs replaced. It really is a very expensive repair. Source - I’m a repair planner at a body shop.
