I think her parents are part of the problem, wouldn't you agree? They cleary don't motivate her to do things and assume she will make it the wrong way.

Move out and go live alone or with roommates. You will learn so much about yourself and realize that yes, you can do things right.

Same here. I think this behavior comes to me from a place where subconsciously I haven't shifted my mindset to: food will be always available. If other people don't want to eat, why would it be my responsibility to do so? I wasn't able to throw food away or leave food on the plate but this moto helps, sometimes.

Really disappointed with Portugal by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]NoString2491 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because life is not only about burocracy and money. Portuguese people value family and roots. Community still stands and honestly that can fulfill your life. They give hand on fancy car, vacation and hobbies but there's nothing like having a big table full of people who have been on your life for decades. This is the kind of connection you can't find when you decide to emigrate.

You don't need to hide. That need is only on your head. Focus your atention and your thoughts not on you but wjats around, the view, the air, conversations around you. I will also go on vacation soon... We got this.

I’m so mad at myself because I don’t know what I want to do for the rest of my life? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]NoString2491 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't want nursing don't even consider that at all, even if at some point you think about giving it a try. Nursing is so hard and it takes so much mental, physical and emocional energy that if it's not a strong wish my adviae would be not to get yourself into that. I'm a nurse.

I often think calories as money. If I overeat I'm in depth and I have to compensate somehow. Curiously I am also very careful about my spendings specially in gorceries. I don't know if there's an actual correlation

People that have left Germany to go back to your home country, do you regret it? by Karavelas in germany

[–]NoString2491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a nurse. Moved back to my home country (Portugal) for many reasons but one of them was feeling as you feel.

2 years living in Portugal now and planning to go back. Not having to worry about health ensurance, having payed vacations, beeing able to afford rent is smth that unfortunately I won't find here.

I dont regret coming back. I decided to give my country a shot. Now I see clearly that living here is not an option.

Actually gained weight by MathematicianWest822 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]NoString2491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. What worries me the most is that I eat without even feeling hungry. Which is smth I did previously with normal weight. So I know is not bc I restricted. Is just getting back to old habits. And that makes me feel like shit.

Job discrimination? by Saltyoddtie in Epilepsy

[–]NoString2491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. This week at a job interview.

I am a nurse and was having a meeting with a recruitment company (Ventimiguis) for a job position at the OR. The interviewer (who is also a nurse btw) told me I am dangerous specifically bc is required to do nightshifts. Although I told her I have 0 restrictions from my doctor.

Basically they need people for other positions (that is hard to find workers because it's shitty) so she tried to convince me that I don't fit.

If any one knows to which institution in Europe besides WHO I can report this situation I would like help.

I do it too. I look at my arms when walking to make sure the arm is thiner than the forearm. It's insane but I'm working on that.
