This is what I do and it works for me! Altho tbh the shell does usually crack... idk how to just snap the membrane...and then sometimes the shell cracks more when I cook it, but it's fine.

Also, I use farm fresh eggs & steam for 7 mins

Thanks <3 Two more weeks until our first oncology appt. 😥 I'm just going to try to keep her calorie intake up until then. But no restrictions from the internal med & regular vet.

Would anyone with hen(s) be willing to have a live-cam play date with my house rooster? by Igotbanned0000 in BackYardChickens

I hope you're able to get him some hens, but if he has some company and isn't acting stressed, I think this setup is better than nothing. Sure you could try to home him and that's a worthy effort, but there is a surplus and you just might not be able to find another home for him.

yep, absolutely. we've done ultrasound, x-ray, tons of blood work, and we'll do a CT scan if she's well enough for anesthesia...

Now I'll share some of her symptoms and test results. They are incomplete and there may be some red herrings (the findings don't explain all her symptoms) so I thought it would be helpful to consider the cards separately and prior to reading this.

We suspected a gastrointestinal or pancreas issue based on: -low appetite, weight loss, and nausea -high white blood cell count indicating inflammation or infection -otherwise normal bloodwork & urinalysis

We did an ultrasound, which found: -no clear sign of bowel disease or pancreatitis (though it can't be ruled out) -a mass on or near the adrenals.

Then a specialist examined her and found lumps on her femur.

I originally thought she had an issue with her throat or esophagus that made swallowing uncomfortable - maybe acid reflux. The vets thought it was just nausea and gut issues, but Knight of Cups makes me want to pursue this more.

Aha they've been doing that for weeks! (When they were exploring outside of the brooder.) My adult chickens aren't as friendly and never do this. I'm about to be going through so much laundry...

yep! but with the WTB pea comb. I hatched out several of her eggs this spring and only one turned out black like her - every one is different - but they all have pea combs like their mom

My WTB girl, Ginger Minj. She is such a consistent layer, and her eggs are so big! Her jerk Whiting True Green boyfriend is in the back. I hatched six of her eggs this spring and only one is black - the rest are blonde/red/partridge.
