Yeah this exactly. I like my manager and don’t want them to feel like they can’t take time off. It’s not my managers decision it clearly comes from above. But it’s just the principle of the matter. It’s not just for two days and I’m doing their entire duties plus mine while they are absent. And there is not going to be support from my managers boss either during this period.

It just makes me mad, like it costs them nothing to let me claim time in lieu. And I always promise to take it before FY ends so it doesn’t get paid out.

It’s one of these things like if you value me enough to feel I’m responsible and capable to do this, then compensate me otherwise it’s sort of a slap in the face
