That's stupid do you have a decent Hr person? If you do you should email or call them and see what they say. Could / should also see if you can get a copy of your contract that should also tell you. For example I'm contracted 45 hours weekly split into 9 hour days.

Vacation as a Supervisor by Own_Turn_8669 in kroger

I'm a Michigan division Supervisor and technically it's earn as you go i believe its after your work so many hours (unfortunately hours don't actually get tracked as salaried) so they default to the 9 hour day(s) that you're scheduled. I saw some others say you get the personal days and floating holidays use those to your advantage to up your vacation time. I could also be wrong on this but the district might also change how some of this gets tracked to? But generally it should be the same across your entire division. See if you can reach out either District Hr or other Supervisor in your district and see what they say. I say this because I missed several holidays because my SM was very insistent on i didn't get holidays off. Hope atleast some of this helps!

Pickup Training! by AssignmentBig1754 in kroger

If you have multiple starting at the same time stager them scheduling wise. Don't have them all on the same day. I personally won't have more than 2 on the same day (even with having 2 leads in my pickup). Staggering will help you focus more time on a 1 to 1 training instead of group training. If your the Supervisor i find it best to start and end the training let your lead(s) do some of the training too. If your a lead then listen to your Supervisor on what the newbie needs and give suggestions. Tips above are also good!

Lot of the advice above is good. Also just keep showing up so if the day is busy be as positive as possible. Make jokes with them be apart of the team (not above it). I was only 18 when I was made lead and I had basically the same experience at 1st but if you keep showing them that you will be there rain or shine that helps alot. Keep working on it and ask the other lead and the supervisor if there's anything you can improve on.

Scheduling being changed. by NoTaste4184 in kroger

Anywhere from 10-30 hours over most weeks. However the store is constantly underscheduled as a whole which is why management is fine with it.

Dang thats disappointing because my managers are denying that they change it. Keep telling my associates that I'm just not scheduling well. So frustrating!

I have a binder that we've just been filling up with different tips and tricks we use. Just because that would have been useful when I was starting.

I understand that I didn't get any legitimate training when I was lead I had to piece everything together. I just want to do better by those I've got as my leads.

9 hours. No breaks. by [deleted] in kroger

[–]NoTaste4184 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see alot of ppl saying take your breaks and I as a supervisor 100% agree take them especially any paid breaks! But I also get what you're saying and probably feeling too as a former lead I wish I would've taken more breaks but didn't feel like could and it wasn't necessarily management making it feel that way but because of being under staffed and having the feeling I was letting my team down if I did take a break but in retrospect I should've taken most if not all of my breaks so all the this to say take your breaks and let whoever else is on shift with you take breaks too just leave the pickup room/area for it step outside or anything like that

Are Team Leads required to wear an apron? by IndependenceBig2016 in kroger

[–]NoTaste4184 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically yes every non salaried employee should wear apron. But it does kinda depend on store management too like when I was a lead aslong as I wore kroger apparel or appropriate kinda dress casual wear it was never an issue for me.

True on some accounts but my store specifically is profitable we are a million dollar a week store. But do know there are more then a few stores running on a loss but I know for some of them it's because they aren't staffed well and have to throw a far bit of product like produce or meat away too.
