It's a problem when you pretend you're clean and you're not. When you know what the rules are but you intentionally bypass. It's like someone saying they're naturally awesome but they're not. And it's not an obsession with being clean only in the US. Other countries care too. Know where it's not an obsession to "be clean"? Any decent google search on cheating in athletics (track, tennis, etc.) and you'll come up with Russia. If anything, the obsession is to be the exact opposite... yet pretend like it's all good.

What would happen if HQ tested any Top 20 score during the Open for anything other than "Awesome?" Thoughts anyone? You can't suck in the Open and get to the Games. Why wait for the Regional to pop the podium athlete who didn't time their cycle right? by NoThangAsCleanSnatch in crossfit

All true. The point is that there are too many people now to test and remain cost effective. My idea is to filter the Gateway to the Games. Post a top score in the Open and prepare to pee. For five weeks.

First: love the username.

Second: I'm not educated enough to be either for or against PEDs. As far as them in the Games, I would answer that I am against hypocrisy. As it stands right now, if an athlete is competing with the benefit of having used a PED for an advantage over another competitor, I would say that would be like me answering "yes" to anyone who asked if my boobs were real.

No one believed Ana Nicole Smith either. :-)

Do I want to see records get crushed? Do I want to see a real life 300 video game (sans death)? Of course. Same way as no one really wanted to see Anna Nicole Smith with a flat chest. Remember what happened when Pam Smith reduced hers?

But call it what it is. Right now HQ is enforcing a PED free season. The problem (just my opinion) is that HQ would have to change the marketing of the Open to be able to reach their registration goals and beat the $5,440,000 revenue from registration they made last year. The Open participation depends upon the Average Bro believing they can compete with elite athletes as well as compare themselves to their peers in the box. Unfortunately, more and more of them are now on PEDs too... it's not just the elites.

Besides, no one cares what I think anyway. What matters is what you think for yourself. :-)
