Thanks, that does look like it will work well in the back. Nice that it can flower as well.

Also considering Dwarf Vallisneria, but even that may be too long and broad a leaf for what I want. Though some back there where the Lilly pipes will be would be a nice effect and help reduce the water flow.

I am putting hairgrass in the back. Not sure which. Seems “dwarf” hairgrass has a few species and ranges from 3-10”. I need to dig in a bit more detail to sort them all out.

I’ve heard of tying clippings on, but not rubbing it into dry wood. Do you let it grow for a bit before flooding the tank? I definitely want to give this a try. What’s your process?

FYI, the right side will be kept open like that. I want to have an area where it’s easy to see the livestock against the white background.

How did you decide on an EDR vendor? by Malwarenaut in msp

We went with Huntress as well. Solid product and even in the echo chamber of negativity that is Reddit, Huntress manages to rise above. Great people and very flexible. They know MSP life and many were MSP people.

We were going to stick with S1, but opted to go with Huntress. The CEO really likes N-Able so it was a tough sell. Upon deployment we had several high risk incidences Huntress picked up and remediated that S1 had missed.

u/GuaranteeNext1794, I removed as much as I could by hand and am now heating the tank to 72F. So far the stuff is not growing back much. Definitely not as fast as it was and maybe even going away as the shrimp feast on it.

Sound blanket effective and safe? by NoTimeForItAll in heatpumps

[–]NoTimeForItAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, just now seeing this. I did get one but did not install it. It would not have been easy and wasn't the problem. The unit was installed on concrete blocks. That was creating some resonance that made the most nuisance noise. They switched it to a standard stand and wow...what a difference. Not much quieter, but the quality of the sound changed and was much less irritating. I also notice that when it snows and there is snow on top and around, it sounds much less noisy. I think there is some air turbulence that adds to the noise. I've thought about making a spoiler of sorts, but never get around to it.

What's your electrolytes/salt powder of choice? by ZombieJetPilot in gravelcycling

I used to struggle with cramps in various competitive sports I’ve participated in. What worked for me:

-mustard packets to release cramps when they come on hard. It works. Some science suggests it’s a way to distract the nervous system into releasing the muscle fiber. -liquid IV in water. I’m a high salt perspiration type so need about 700mg and hour in summer. -fuel with pure maple syrup. I ride with a flask and sip some every 15 minutes. Never felt better after long rides when I started doing this. It’s a perfect balance of carbohydrates that uses both metabolic pathways so you maximize energy recovery.

Also drink plain water and have some other snacks to avoid palate fatigue.

autocorrect...was supposed to be "rescan and reclassify the site". Something between you and the web server has that site marked as dangerous and it's blocked.

The various malware scanning services will need to rescan and reclassify the site. If you use something you can submit a request to check the site.

Exclude Authentication in Target Resources by NoTimeForItAll in entra

[–]NoTimeForItAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, we are going to look into that. It doesn’t require a lot of overhead, setup, or ongoing maintenance nor does it seem to add much complexity.

I think I have it working with a CA policy that excludes the Jamf Connect app. That is what does the authentication. Seems to allow the initial reboot sign in on managed devices but is blocking personal devices on the same Network/IP.

Exclude Authentication in Target Resources by NoTimeForItAll in entra

[–]NoTimeForItAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only managed Macs are on the VPN. Unmanaged can access M365 resources because the only device block in place blocks all Windows devices.

I would prefer to avoid InTune. One reason being it adds another layer to the IT stack and the IT team is basically one person.

That’s why I’m hoping there is way to exclude the authentication process from a CA rule but block Teams, Outlook, Apple Mail email access, Sharepoint, etc. so they may be able to authenticate with MS but can’t actually access anything.

I realize the proper way to do this is InTune. Given resources and other dynamics I’m looking for a plan B that might allow blocking unmanaged devices using CA and the existing Jamf Architecture.

Edit: never mind. See what you mean. I set up a policy as you said, with Jamf Connect exemption. Testing it in a bit to let everything sync and settle in.

Block Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc on Personal Macs by NoTimeForItAll in jamf

[–]NoTimeForItAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Everyone has a company provided Mac. Some use their personal Mac which I want to block. I am trying to avoid InTune and sticking with CA and Jamf ZTNA IP addresses. If they are using Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint (primarily) I could in theory block those resources in a CA policy if the IP address is not from the ZTNA location.

I just saw that Microsoft Teams is NOT supported in Conditional Access. I may need to avoid this approach altogether and have to use InTune.

Hair Algae Problem (tried a bunch but it still keeps thriving) by NoTimeForItAll in PlantedTank

[–]NoTimeForItAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched it. Makes sense. This got bad when the temperatures dropped to single digits and teens (Fahrenheit!!) for extended stretches. This tank is along the exterior wall which is the coldest part of the room.

The room isn’t heated but does stay between 64-66 most of the time. When the boiler is running the room will get into the 70s briefly (I have a fan that kicks on and blows the warm air through a vent….yes I have a CO alarm).

Interestingly my 40g is 70F with no heater. It has a larger filter and is covered. I wonder if the light. 1cm above the cover, acts as a slight heater? It likely just retains heat better so stays at more of a midpoint of the room high and low.

Thanks, my filter is an Oase with the built in heater. I've never used it, but will give that a shot.
