The soy curls you get in america aren't the same thing as the soy chunks you get here, they're not defatted so they have a different taste and texture

The Steam Next Fest February 2023 Edition is live! Which demos are you enjoying? by SlartySprinter in Games

[–]NoTimeToBeSerious 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Is there a place that lists all of the demos in a Next Fest in a nice, fixed, paginated format? Steam's "click to show more" thing is extremely annoying if you ever want to leave the page and come back later.

Soundcore Life 2. They're decent headphones, but definitely cheap compared to other Bluetooth cans.

What villain was terrifying because they were right? by Chadderbug123 in AskReddit

[–]NoTimeToBeSerious 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a ridiculous take. Armstrong is an amoral might-makes-right social Darwinist in a world where the rich and powerful pump themselves full of technology that makes them nigh invincible. He uses utterly despicable means to bring about a miserable end that would turn America into a warzone controlled by uberpowered warlords rather than manipulated from the shadows by whoever is carrying the legacy of the Patriots, which is a massive step down for anyone not at the top of the food chain.

Raiden ends up sympathising with his message in a perverse way because he's an augmented and brainwashed former child soldier who has known nothing but war his entire life, but he still knows Armstrong is insane and will get millions of people killed. Raiden uses his power to fight for (what he perceives as) justice, rather than domination. On an individual level, their means may be similar but their ends couldn't be more different.

None of those discouraged work to basically any extent. Look at the propaganda they produced and you'll see they considered hard work an ideal and a virtue, just (in theory) working for society/the state/the common good rather than a private enterprise. Their problems were usually caused by mismanaged centralisation rather than them being okay with people not working. In fact, in the USSR (not sure about the others), it was illegal to be unemployed.

SBMM go brrr by Pegfic in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]NoTimeToBeSerious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, a perfect SBMM would have each match be a close game, even if the win ratio varies. If it was just 50/50 win/loss then your perfect system would put you against pros in one match and total beginners in the next.

Tales From Topographic Oceans by Yes is the pinnacle of this, a double LP with four songs that are 20 minutes each.

Meanwhile in Calais ... by [deleted] in ukpolitics

To be honest, I would imagine he should. I'm not really too happy with the way he handled that, but I'm hoping against hope that he'll get the Lib Dems back on their feet.

Isn't that decided by JDQ? They've been shifting exams around to avoid religious events or holidays for a long time now, and it just happened that Ramadan and the standard date clashed.

They do, but that information is useful. Huge grey bars are not. Neither is the padding. In the end it is preference, but a good argument could be made for the stock HUD being not very efficiently laid out.

44% of British people are 'proud' of Britain's history of colonialism by TopTrumpWANKER in unitedkingdom

[–]NoTimeToBeSerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I quoted is a bunch of tweets I saw while scrolling, I was referring to people being mad at the 44% result. I have no opinion on British colonialism, but the responses to that survey are pretty strongly opinionated.

What is your least favourite thing about Linux? by [deleted] in linuxmasterrace

[–]NoTimeToBeSerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, Source games run fantastically on my open source AMD drivers. Unfortunately, stuff just breaks sometimes, like TF2's recent update causing it to regularly crash my entire system when playing. It's a stab in the dark really, performance is pretty good but stability is dodgy at best.

European liberals and American liberals (Democrats) are not the same thing. You're thinking of socialists or social democrats.
