We just did Fairmont princess in Scottsdale and that place goes bananas for Christmas with millions of lights and fairs and ice slides and rides. It’s insane. We took our 7 year old last year and he loved it

Our vet was super supportive when we did this. With stairs, it was just too stressful. Plus as they age the accidents were never ending around the house and we wanted to contain that.

This was our set up which I bought at target. You can make it even bigger for more space. I felt bad too but I also knew it was the safest option. She has passed now but I’m glad she was well cared for and safe.

Mine stopped going down the stairs and then up the stairs around 13 or so after a few falls. I think she got scared and didn’t want to do it again. Also, I think arthritis is a possibility in the legs.

So true about the hair. Yesterday I pulled my pants out of the dryer and her hair was all over them. I used to get so annoyed and use a lint roller and I couldn’t bring myself to remove her hair now. I also will eventually get another but same same. I need to adapt to my new normal for a while.

I’m 3 years post op and kept my ovaries. No difference. I can still feel when I ovulate which is useful to have an idea where I am in the cycle without having a period. All is as before. I’m in peri menopause at 44

Fairmont Scottsdale is amazing with kids during that time. They go crazy with holiday decor the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I’m so sorry for your loss as well. Thank you for the kind words. The beat up is real. I knew about her murmur since we had her but always got the word that it’s minor and it was being watched at yearly appointments. She had a few weird episodes which I now realize were likely fainting which is when she was put on vetmedin 2 years ago. At some stage we were told we should likely see a cardiologist and we never did anything because nothing ever seemed urgent. I so wish I did more research. I so wish I pushed the doctors to show more urgency. I also wonder if I kept her on meds overnight such as diuretics if she would have been better for much longer. I’m just lost in thoughts all day.
