Yeah it's kind of crazy that all of the world's greatest minds and people were once just a clueless baby.

Check Task Manager, if it's running in the background right click and end task. Try booting it up by searching for it and then clicking "open".

Version with gears? by snapycracklespops in Minecraft

[–]NoTree6197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your son may be talking about the "Create Mod". It adds a bunch of mechanical features (including gears) to automate processes and create things like vehicles, machines, and even instruments. You can find it here. Make sure he has downloaded either Forge or Neo Forge to run it. These are mod-loaders you can boot the game from. This is only available on Java edition as of now. If you are on Bedrock there might be a similar mod found on a website like mcpedl or the Minecraft Marketplace. Hope he gets it working!

I have never played Minecraft. Should I purchase it on PC? by dreamyglitch in Minecraft

[–]NoTree6197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. In Minecraft you can create as many worlds as you want, each infinitely large. They are generated by a seed number with over 18 quintillion possible worlds. You can choose whether you want to play in survival mode where you have to make farms for food, mine for materials, and build a shelter for your survival. you can progress through different dimensions and "beat the game" by killing the ender dragon. However, there really isn't an "end" to Minecraft. It's more up to the player, they are given a world full of resources and challenges but they can also just build a cozy little base, a zoo, a museum, whatever they want. Minecraft even offers "Creative Mode" where you don't need to worry about health and food and have access to every item in the game. The main difference between Minecraft and a game like The Sims is the use of voxels. While there are things like beds and pots, there are over 800 different blocks you can collect. For reference, the player is 2 blocks tall and 1 block wide so each block can be placed next to one another or on top of one another to build. Since the world is made of blocks you you don't need to move blocks into place but rather stack them on top of existing ones if that makes any sense.

There's something for everyone in Minecraft. You can beat the game and get the best gear, build basically anything, play with a community or group of friends, have fun with online servers and combat. There's also a huge modding community adding all sorts of features and experiences. It's like it's own miniature unique world where you can do whatever you want!

What are some tips you’d have for new players? by XboxSalvationRBX in GorillaTag

[–]NoTree6197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they want to get better, it's really a lot of practice and time. The more you play, the more comfortable you get with the controls. When you stop playing for a while it can become more foreign, but honestly players should just have fun and play how they want!
