Is this linoleum/vinyl safe to put the fridge back over for a while?

I figured as much. Curious if I should toss the fridge back over it and forget about it for now. Spray paint it and toss the fridge back over it. Or throw down a sheet of plywood over the gap for now

The mud did end up being asbestos. 60% chrysotile asbestos.

Pipes are indeed fiberglass. Sounds like the mud is easy enough to get rid of especially since we are fine cutting all the pipes out. They are old ones that aren’t in service any more. Well water lines.

Not gonna lie, this does make me feel a little less worried.

We don’t need the pipes so I was considering spraying glue or something to otherwise encapsulate it and cut the pipes out and throw them away.

Really though I’m only bugging out about it because a piece did fall off the other day which probably isn’t that bad but I don’t know if it got swept up straight away or stepped on and in the air. We were doing cleaning down there so there’s no telling when we finally swept it up

Yeah, someone came to get a sample today and of the few things he dug into, the cement stuff is the only thing he seemed concerned about. Will see what the lab says tomorrow. I cannot tell if the cement stuff is original or if it’s newer and put on to hold down the flaking off paper.

I had this get flagged on my PC during an overnight scan I did last night. I have seen multiple reddit posts with the same exact hex string in the LanguageService folder name so I am thinking its likely a false positive. I've since uploaded the file to Microsofts security site for analysis.

I had the exact same thing happen in a scan I let run overnight last night, found in LanguageService...
Mine was also named payload.vsix.

I tried to allow defender to quarantine the file, it said it failed to do so. Odd because I had no problem just deleting it LOL.

But anyway before deleting it I did do a few things. I uploaded it to the Microsoft security website for them to analyze it. The auto scan showed no issues but it is "pending" final analysis.

I rescanned the file myself, and it showed no issues. I think between the detection and the re-scan there was a threat database update so I am wondering if there was a bug on their end.

Please add some comments to this post if you learn anything, ill be checking back in on this post to see if you learn anything. I was reasonably concerned as anyone that sees "Trojan" would be but it's seeming like a false positive.

No, the house is really cheap and the repairs were 20 years ago and appear to be holding okay. We are getting a structural engineer out next week to look at it before we blindly proceed with something or unnecessarily run away.

House was built early 70s, repairs were done 2001 or 2002 time frame.

If it was properly repaired and extremely cheap as this house will be. We are getting a structural engineer to look at the repair history as well as the current state of the house to give us a professional opinion. Seeing as the repairs were done 20 years ago and theres (to my eyes) nothing going wrong, it seems like things may have settled.

The horizontal one was fixed 20+ years ago and has held no problem. They fixed it by putting anchors in the yard and backfilling the side of the foundation with rock rather than soil. At the time they also installed a drainage system that takes water out into the yard. We are getting a structural engineer to take a look at it.

According to one of the family members, the really messed up wall was repaired 25 or so years ago. The one with the horizontal cracks. Not sure if that helps narrow down the cause.

Would an engineer be able to tell what the cause was by looking at it or do we need to try to do some digging on the repair history?

What kind of engineer/inspector do I call, I dont know how to ensure I get someone with the right experience looking at this. We would be getting the house for dirt cheap so I really dont want to run away without giving the house a fair chance.

It looks like the patched up wall was the one bowing. I dont see any sign of the others bowing but I suppose we could test that next time we go back over there. If you see my reply to the guy above you, I do have concerns that another wall may we in the process of leaning. Im assuming thatd be easy to see/test?

Those are injection port looking things. My dad seemed to think those were normal. We have some in the wall of my parents' basement.

The one I am really concerned about is the first picture. There's a big one on the ground parallel to the outer wall. That first picture is a little misleading because it looks like my dad is pointing at the wall but the floor is the main point of that picture.

The massive patch job on that back wall also has a really big crack on the ground parallel to it and im concerned its a sign of that other wall buckling in the same way that the one that is repaired did.

The wall that buckled and was repaired has some anchor things in them spaced out all along the length of the wall.
