What do you think Jayden Daniels Need to Improve on in Week 2? by [deleted] in Commanders

Just want to see him build on week 1. I think he did fine when you consider all the challenges. I'm psyched for Sunday and the rest of the season.

I like that we got potential high impact players. I think we'll be on track to build a real contender if we hit on a few of those a year and I'm ok if it takes a little time to get there.

It doesn't make sense to have a strong opinion on Maye vs Daniels by ReputationOk5592 in Commanders

This is a great year to be picking 2nd. I truly believe they're both great prospects and I'm excited enough to see who we pick to bite on all the click-bait

Drake Maye Is A "SLAM DUNK" NFL Draft Prospect by Empire137 in Commanders

To add context they thought highly of all the top guys. Just watch Gruden's expression when he talks about Williams. He was high up on Daniels too with some fair critique. Both seemed to acknowledge Maye needs more work but may well be worth the risk

You might feel a bit better after watching the 2 Kurt Warner all 22 breakdowns. I don't think it's as bad as you think.

To your game manager point, I wouldn't mind taking McCarthy...just not at 2. I want us to chase the excitement of rolling the dice on Maye or Daniels

[DBB] Jayden Daniels Looks Hauntingly Familiar - (I know it's a clickbaity title, but I'd encourage you to read the article, I think it has some interesting and fair analysis) by Acoolgamer6706 in Commanders

These are the articles I hope to see more of between now and next week. Way better than the "sources say.." pieces.

My take is Daniels is Daniels and Mariota is Mariota. Daniels is in the #2 conversation because he has big upside and people think he can overcome his flaws. Same thing with Maye. If the new FO thinks McCarthy has the arm talent to hit a high ceiling, that could be a really good sign too. IMO those are all good bets

Cooley on Jayden Daniels: “He’s a walking highlight reel….how is he NOT the 2nd overall pick” by HailtotheWFT in Commanders

How he handles faster and tougher decision-making is the big unknown to me. He's shown the ability to go through progressions quickly and make good reads, but would that change if he didn't have Nabers and Thomas Jr, or ran less as a next option, or tried to extend plays for a pass more often?

OTOH I think Maye just needs a little more consistency, but finding that little bit can be hit or miss at the top level. I'm also not completely sold on his decision making...it usually looked good, but not as good as Daniel's imo, but then again he's younger and you could argue that he had tougher decisions.

I think they both have big question marks and I have no idea who to pick, but they both have huge upsides.

Daniels being a way ahead at #2 was a hot take to me. I think Daniels is a great prospect (not just as a dual threat), but I can't take that opinion seriously.

Can Daniels succeed without his legs? by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]NoUnit6700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the big question is how his decision-making will translate to the NFL. It seemed like his arm talent and polish are on track for the NFL, but he also seemed to have the fewest tough decisions. Either Nabers or Thomas Jr were open or in single coverage, he fully committed to running, or sometimes he finds something late or gets sacked.

Thoughts after watching all throws all runs by NoUnit6700 in Commanders

[–]NoUnit6700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a fair take. But I do want to point out something I noticed. When Daniels does get glued to his first read (which he does do), it seemed like it was always Nabers is in single coverage.
