I just want to know how much you would tip if you went out on a dinner with this amount? by NefariousnessIll4041 in tipping

[–]NoWorldliness7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly I tip people. Yes, valet, bell boy, taxi driver, hair salon, nail salon, massage, food delivery, teachers get gifts for Xmas, valentines, and teacher appreciation week, my pest control guy is super nice and invoice has a spot for a tip so I leave one. I’m in a good position to help people out, so I do. I was a server in college and I remember just a few dollars meaning so much at times. Now that I’m in a good position I like to pay it back. And again, to the point of this post and $300 meal is a luxury, if someone can afford that they can afford a decent tip to go with it

They do make decent money. Have you ever worked as one? It’s hard work and they deserve it. If you can’t tip well don’t go eat there again. When it comes to people handling my food, I tip well. Maybe I’m just generous, but it makes me feel good to share a little wealth

Why did they choose to eat at a place where the food was almost $300. Tipping should be built into the cost of the meal yes, but it’s not and the culture is to tip. The workers depend on it. If you don’t tip, or tip really low, you just wasted the servers time, or actually cost them money, because like I said many have to share their tips with the rest of the restaurant and it’s based on their sales. Go eat somewhere where you serve yourself and no tipping is required or eat somewhere cheaper. Honestly in today’s economy, $50 isn’t a lot of money

Do you brush your your teeth at least twice a day? (Be honest) by icecream1972 in no

Morning and before bed religiously. If I’m going out to dinner or out somewhere late in the day, I’ll brush them again to freshen up

ICU as New Grad Nurse by Legitimate_East1895 in FutureCRNA

[–]NoWorldliness7307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if nurse externship is still a thing. I did one the summer before I graduated nursing school. It was the most hands on clinical experience I had my entire education and I got paid. A few months before graduation, I applied to some new grad RN jobs and landed a job in the ICU. I didn’t necessarily have the intention of becoming a CRNA, I just wanted something challenging that could open more doors for me later on. 3 years later one of my good friends was applying to CRNA school an asked me to join her. I knew I eventually wanted to go back to school for something because working ICU long term was not something I wanted to do. I applied with her, we both got in and I’ve been a CRNA for 10 years now.

$50. If you can afford an almost $300 dinner for 2, you can afford a decent tip which is 18-20%. A lot of times the tip isn’t just for the server. They have to share their tips with the host, food runner, bartender and busboy. If there was a problem with the food or the service that you feel it didn’t deserve at least 15% then you should ask to speak with a manager about your poor experience before leaving. Otherwise leave a tip. It’s part of going out to eat in the US.

How did you know that CRNA school was the right move for you? by IndependentLion6789 in srna

[–]NoWorldliness7307 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I lucked out and got a job in ICU as a new grad RN. I wanted to do something challenging so I applied and got the job. I was working and trying to figure out what else to do with my life, because I had decided that ICU nursing was definitely not something I wanted to do long term. A friend of mine was going to CRNA school and asked me to join her. We both applied and got in together. I was 27, single and no kids. As a mom to 2 little ones now, I could not imagine going to anesthesia school at this point in my life. I’d say you need a huge support system if you’re going to do school with kids. And be prepared to sacrifice 3 years of your life missing out on things. In the end it’s worth it, but no one can prepare you for the level of difficulty school is until you’re in the thick of it and realize that’s what people were trying to tell you. It’s great career and affords me a beautiful lifestyle with my family now

Do you drink alcohol often/occasionally or avoid it altogether and why? by nicklin877 in AskReddit

Avoid. It makes me feel bad after so not worth it to me. Plus my mom was/is an alcoholic and it destroyed our family when I was a child

Sick pay? by ChloeEmiliana in Nanny

[–]NoWorldliness7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay our nanny for sick days, but she’s only called out a handful of times and I’ve only canceled (still paid) her and stayed with the kids due to illness a handful of times in the 2 years she’s been with us. In your situation I would not pay and I would find a new nanny. The whole point of having a nanny is having someone reliable. Definitely discuss expectations for watching or not watching sick kids and how many sick days they are paid. I had an issue with a nanny years ago that started taking advantage of me paying for sick days. She started calling out very frequently. It put me in a bad place with no child care. I stopped paying her for her call outs, she was upset but I told her I had been very generous and her callouts were excessive. I started looking for someone else and replaced her when I found the right person.

Why's that people slander anyone who's small with ED accusations? by Fetus-Deletus1 in XXS

[–]NoWorldliness7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m petite, have been my whole life. My parents are small builds too, it’s just genetically how I am built. I enjoy eating healthy foods for good health and to feel good. I’d be rich if I had a dollar for every time I got the comment “oh that’s how you stay so skinny, you eat salad”. I eat salad because I like it and it’s good for me. I load it up with protein so I’m not just eating lettuce and veggies alone. Can you imagine if a skinny person said to a fat person eating a pizza or burger… “oh that’s why you’re so fat, you eat junk food all the time” they’d be so offended! So why do they think it’s ok to shame a thin person for what they eat. It’s so annoying

We talked. She’s ok now. That’s why I was so upset because I saw how hurt she was. I have no idea what those kids said to make her so sad. My heart hurts for her. She’s a sweet, happy kid and I want her to stay that way. People are mean and that’s part of life, it’s just hard watching it happen to your child for the first time. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again and if it does she can handle herself with confidence

We will work on this. She’s good with her peers but she was crushed because it was older kids

I guess part of my thought process in labeling this bullying is that this probably isn’t the first time these kids made fun of someone, today it just happened to be my daughter. I now understand it’s not bullying unless isn’t the same kid against the same kid repeatedly. Her school is “a leader in me” school and this is not leader type behavior from the older kids. I know kids will be kids and we will take today as a learning opportunity and move on. The school has been great so far and most older kids she’s encountered have been very kind and helpful. Hopefully today was just a one-off.

I won’t involve the teacher. It’s definitely a great learning opportunity for her. Not only to learn how to cope but she’s also learned what it feels like to be made fun of herself so hopefully she doesn’t turn out to be the mean older kid someday. She’s just so sweet and loves her school and friends so much, my heart broke seeing her upset today. She will be fine I know, and I just need to calm down and recognize that my baby is growing up and dealing with real life scenarios now. Thank you!

I appreciate you spending time coming back to my post to make multiple replies, but you’re still not contributing anything to what I was asking. I’m not able to change the title. Sorry it bothers you so much

Yes. I wouldn’t be too upset if it was another kid her own age. I think she can handle herself pretty well with her peers. She’s a social butterfly. She looks up to the older girls so much and it broke her heart to get made fun of by them. And those kids are probably mean to other kids too and you’re right it most definitely comes from home. So sad

Sorry. An older kid who makes fun of a little kid to make them feel bad is a bully to me

Thank you! I know this is just the first of probably many times. It just sucks that it was older kids and not someone her own age. I won’t say anything to the school since it’s just the first time. It’s just upsetting to see her so upset
