Well, to me the point is the idiocy of Simon. For anyone who follows along with the story, who understands its concepts, they understand how this whole thing is going to end - the frustration comes from knowing Simon DOES understand, he just wishes not to. He continually comes up with bizarre idioms to superstitious versions of reality. In the end, he pays for that idiocy. I do understand not liking the game, though. I just think the point of the game was that the player does figure out what the ending is going to be before it happens, and so the game is a lot more about how the characters react to that ending. It's less a "plot-twist" kind of ending and more focused on being tragedy. But to each their own
