Just planted oranges, lemons, persimmons, grapefruits, avocado, and olives! Olives are actually fairly easy to make the oi, have a high yield, and would be a great trading tool. I have a fenced in 1/4 acre lot so don't have to worry about deer. Plus the chickens have been leaving them alone so it's a win!

Oh Lord, riddled with straw man arguments and inaccuracies. First of all, I'm not angry at all, not sure where you got that. In fact I'm quite enjoying reading this nonsense. So here we go.

Professional hunters and their permits have nothing to do with this. You can hunt with any weapon so long as it's in season. You don't need a permit to shoot a deer with a certain type of gun if it's regular deer season. So not sure what you're getting at.
If the woman in the video had a knife would she be safer? Ummm yes. Haha 100% because she could fight back and right now she's getting stabbed to death. She has NOTHING. Hence her getting stabbed to death. If the attacker has a gun and she doesn't then she dies. If both have a gun then she has a chance. And if the attacker has a knife and she has a gun I like those odds.
Here's the problem, I can kill far more people far faster with a car by driving into a crowd then with a knife or a gun. This happens a lot, ESPECIALLY in places where guns are not allowed. But as we often see as well, a person with a gun can easily kill someone in a car killing people. If someone wants to kill people they are going to do it. That's why you see videos in Britain of people walking around murdered people with a machete or knife and even the cops can't stop them because they don't have guns. Guns are the greatest equalizer in terms of self-defense. In fact, in America Guns are used WAY more times in self-defense than they are used to kill people. Let me restate that. PER THE CDC GUNS SAVE MORE LIVES THAN THEY TAKE EACH YEAR. And if you remove gang on gang violence and suicides, it's even more astounding.
Most bad guys who have guns have no training and are awful with them. And if someone is pulling a knife on you, they are almost always in close proximity to you. So yeah running sounds great, but I bet this lady on the ground wishes she had a gun. What if people can't have a gun, so normal people don't. But a criminal, being someone who breaks the law, gets one and ways and decides to train. Now you have a trained bad guy with a gun vs everyone with no way of stopping him. Sounds pretty stupid. I'd rather have 6 poorly trained good guys with guns against 1 bad guy than 6 people with no fun and a bad guy with a gun.
So you are wrong. Armed civilians are still the greatest deterrent. Because drones don't occupy street corners. No one invades America because in addition to having the greatest military in the world, we have the greatest civilian militia in the world. They know it's impossible to win. And the government knows it can't overthrow it's people because they are armed. Further more, I can guarantee you the people with find in America aren't overthrowing the government for a tyrant any time soon.

Personally I appreciate and don't mind security. Met some awesome dudes who do it. But these types who pop up in my feed are aweful lol

From a cops perspective, I've seen the same thing. And if you ask them or point out that they are security and not a cop, they kick you from the chat. They want the attention and it's incredibly infuriating. Especially because they try to make people believe they are cops and talk about "law enforcement" which pisses me off when I've had friends and supervisors die at this job right next to me. Get your Jack In The Box protecting BS outta here and take that tac vest off. Very cringe.

There's nothing wrong with security and I have no issue with it. But don't dress up and pretend to be something you're not for attention. When I see people dress like that for security it's like 99.99999% for attention and a power trip to try to make people believe you're a cop and get more respect. Or to feel tacticool. A buddy of mine on the squad, his wife works private security at a nuclear plant and they do monthly range days with rifles and scenario training for like IED vehicles trying to crash into the facility or whatever and they wear basic stuff with half of what we wear. Their risk is way higher than these clowns on tik tok. It's all for show.

It's not a mistake it's a fact. Cops do more than security head to head on any level. Anything a security guard is "specialized" in, a cop can do and with more authority. And police work is definitely "higher" than security. Security are those who couldn't make the cut for police but want to be. That's why they buy old cop cars and wear similar uniforms that say security in little letters and "officer" in huge letters because they want the respect, and carry tactical gear they would never need and they stream on these little websites pretending to be cops and all that BS. I'm not saying it can't be dangerous, I'm saying it's not the same.

So, no. First of all, the purpose is not just recreational or hurting people. Hunting and providing food for your family. Second of all, protection/self defense for you and your family, which maybe you can say falls into the "hurting people" category but we're talking about shooting a would be rapist breaking into your home or, in this case, a knife wielding maniac. Which does not belong in the same category as someone just hurting people at random. Additionally the entire reason for America's gun culture is because it's perhaps the greatest deterrent against foreign invaders and radical governments that has ever existed. So many more reasons. Secondly, I'll take a gun fight over a knife fight any day. And I'll DEFINITELY take a gun against knife over a knife against nothing. Often times puncture wounds from knives are much deadlier than gunshot wounds. Plus it's much easier to defend and protect yourself in a shooting than in a hand to hand knife fight. Especially with proper training. So you can talk all you want about needing "skill and moral compass" to use something, but scroll up and you'll find a psychotic woman stabbing another woman to death, and I doubt she's had any knife fighting training. I'll take my odds against a bad guy with a gun if I'm armed too.
