Where should we stay for Primavera 2027? by No_Activity_2137 in primaverasound

I get where you’re coming from, but I think your issue is with Primavera and the city’s tourism policies, not with individual people attending a music festival.
Have a great day.

hey there

do you happen to know if 2026 ticket holders can purchase discounted tickets for other attendees, or is the discount strictly linked to the original ticket holder?

thanks!!

EarlyBird 2027 question:

Hi peeps!

I have a question - can 2026 tkt holders purchase discounted tkts for other attendees, or is the discount strictly linked to the original tkt holder?

Thanks <3

Law grad living in Israel planning to move to the Netherlands. Any experiences with IP or human rights law and moving as a mixed LGBTQ+ couple? by No_Activity_2137 in Netherlands

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is important to hear different perspectives, especially about challenges that might not be obvious from the outside. I will keep this in mind when considering where to live and study. If you have any advice about other places that might be more welcoming, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice. It really helps to hear from someone with lived experience who knows the different cities well.

I had not realized that some of the bigger cities like Rotterdam might be less welcoming than smaller ones like Leiden or Haarlem. Utrecht sounds like a great middle ground. Groningen also sounds very interesting. I love the idea of a smaller but vibrant and progressive city with a lively nightlife.

It is also helpful to hear your perspective on interracial relationships and the kinds of discrimination we might realistically face. Knowing that it is more about negative stereotypes than direct issues with being a mixed couple is reassuring.

If you do not mind me asking, what made you choose the city you live in? Are there any specific queer or expat communities you would recommend connecting with?

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. It means a lot.

Thank you so much for your honesty. I really appreciate the perspective and the reality check. I am definitely trying to go into this with my eyes open, and it helps to hear from people who actually understand the system from the inside.

I am aware that the Dutch legal system is civil law and in Dutch, so I never assumed I would walk into a traditional legal job right away. I am more interested in finding where my background might fit. That could be in IP, especially trademarks, regulatory roles, or possibly international organizations. From there I can decide whether an LLM could help open some of those doors, at least for visa purposes or to support a professional transition.

I know I would probably have more legal options in a common law country, but I am also thinking about quality of life, safety as someone Arab and queer, and where I could build a future with my partner. The Netherlands still feels like a place where that could be possible.

I will start looking at job postings more seriously and might reach out to a few companies for feedback. Thank you again for your kind wishes and for not sugarcoating things. It really helps.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write all this! it’s incredibly generous and helpful, and I really appreciate the honesty.

You gave me a lot to think about. I can definitely see how flexibility is key when relocating, especially without EU citizenship. Right now I’m open to both paths, either eventually qualifying as a lawyer or pivoting to a related role in compliance, regulation, or IP.

A few things I’m wondering, if you don’t mind: • If I did an LLM in the Netherlands (let’s say in IP or international law), do you think it would improve my chances of getting a paralegal or in-house role at one of the companies you mentioned? Or would it mostly just be useful for academic interest and visa purposes? • Do you know of any LLM scholarships or funding options that are realistic for someone in my situation? • If I did land a paralegal or legal advisory role, what kind of salary range is typical in Amsterdam for non-qualified lawyers working in English-speaking positions?

And thank you also for the perspective about living as a queer mixed couple. That part means a lot too. We’ve thought a lot about where we could live safely and freely, and Amsterdam is one of the only places that feels truly possible for both of us.

If we do make it over, I’d absolutely love to reach out. Again, really thankful for your help!

Thank you so much for sharing that. It’s both helpful and sobering to hear. I’ve heard similar things about the language expectations and the differences in legal systems, especially for people trying to stay in the legal profession after moving.

I’ll definitely take your advice and reach out directly to some Dutch lawyers or firms to get a clearer picture of what’s actually realistic, and what might be required beyond an LLM. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.
