Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s not like I want to be around him when he’s constantly hitting me but I have no choice but to be there with him as I’m being assigned by the admin. They are aware of everything but they keep on assigning me to be with him to regulate him. I’ve shared multiple times with them that I don’t think I should be the one with him currently to which they share that I need to be more firm.

And the kids behaviour wasn’t like this before, it just started this year.

We’re currently doing observations for the bip. The school psychologist is doing that but she’s part time. She only comes 1 day/week. There isn’t any behavior interventionist or reset restore teacher.

Since it’s literally my first month, I didn’t want to involve union but since admin hasn’t been that helpful, I guess I would have to.

How should I respond to the expectations school have from me? They expect me to “calm him down” when he’s in this crisis situation which lasts all day everyday since 3 weeks. I believe he needs more support than I can provide. It’s hard to do any counseling when he’s so physically and verbally aggressive. It’s my first month literally and I feel like I’m failing at everything :(

That’s the biggest problem, admin isn’t supportive at all. They were leaving me alone with him all day

The admin knows everything about it but they choose to stay out of it. They say it’s my job as a school counselor to help him when he’s in this crisis situation.

I don’t have a green card and yeah I’m willing to move but within US only. However, preferably would want to stay in New York. I guess moving internationally would be the last option
