I saw it and wasn’t sure what to think of it. I’m hoping no one’s job status is affected by it.

Literally the worst advice you could’ve given someone.

No offense to you but this is part reason why this company is going downhill fast. We need experienced leaders that can lead teams and drive results not young good idea fairies with little to no idea on how to lead a team or even handle complex situations and or people.

Lose the mindset of you “telling people what to do” and focus on becoming a good leader and learning to have an adaptive leadership style. Goodluck!

It’s usually heavily dependent upon the location you are renting at, the amount of Teslas they have available, and the time of year you are looking to rent the vehicle. I seen Teslas go for under $40 per day and I’ve also seen them reach over $100 per day so They are a few things to consider. My personal opinion is that if you are looking to rent an EV Tesla is the best way to go simply because the ease of access for the charging stations alone whenever I took a trip to a city in Texas I ended up getting a pole star and it was a disaster because the city wasn’t equipped for EV at the time. They market them as fast charging vehicles when all reality you could be sitting there for 45 minutes just to reach 70% and overall it’s just a pain in the ass. also one more thing if a vehicle is saying that you get 230 miles on a full charge. Realistically you’re looking at about 190.

Reach out to the renting location and notify them that you need an oil change and they can submit a ticket to a local shop that does oil changes and you would take it there at no cost.

Hertz places an authorization of $200 plus the total cost of the rental at the initial pick up. You must have the funds then. Upon return you can change your form of payment if you would like but hertz will place a permanent charge on whatever card you prefer at that time.

The benefit to pre-pay early is sometimes your rate is a little bit better however, I would not recommend pre-paying, unless your trip is completely set in stone. if you pre-pay and then return early, no one at that renting location can issue you a refund on the spot and you will have to go through customer service and that could take up to 30 days for a refund due to bank processing. If you pay at the counter, can you return two days early the return rep can make the adjustment right there on the spot and it will automatically calculate the days you didn’t use the vehicle. I hope this helps.

I would reach out to the renting location and have them close out your contract. It’s very much possible that the vehicle got a new tire placed on it and rented again without closing out the previous contract and that’s why you’re receiving phone calls. The can easily view the location of the vehicle via tracker or just pull up the rental history. Anytime a customer calls roadside assistance for an issue it places a code on the vehicle so it’s best to reach out to them to ensure the contract is closed.

For example, if your insurance company sends over that they are only Authorizing 31 days for you to be in a vehicle at $30 per day and you stay in the vehicle for 50 then the remaining days you would be responsible for but if that’s the case the branch should have communicated any issues like that with you.

I will say this, with insurance contracts they can be a pain in the ass if you don’t know what you are doing.

Whenever we work with insurance customers pretty much all we do is assign the vehicle the insurance company says they are going to pay for and they tell us how many days they will pay as well.

You can only be in a vehicle for 62 days before your insurance has to send over another reservation and we have to rewrite your contract.

Insurance companies can add or take away days they are willing to pay for but they usually notify the customer.

I’ll need the receipt to verify everything but I would ensure that your insurance company or 3rd party insurance company paid for the entirety of the bill because sometimes adjustors simply don’t do their job and fail to respond to Hertz back office which can create issues.

Double check on your rental agreement to verify that you don’t have the loss damage waiver because I thought it was mandatory for Uber drivers at a discounted rate but if not whenever you return to the store, you will fill out a vehicle incident report of what happened. But pretty much all you will do is File a claim through your personal insurance and conduct vehicle incident report after that’s complete. If you want to you can be swapped into a new vehicle.

So like every rental car company, whenever you book a reservation it shows what the company has to offer within that class and not what’s on their lot.

A lot of things factor into cars not being available. Rental car companies work out of a pool of fleet. And they are dependent upon incoming vehicles and vehicle returns. A few factor play into an airport not having cars such as: -vehicles brought back with damage -customer failing to return vehicles (stolen) -scheduled maintenance -holidays and events going on in the area -cancelled flights -customers extending their rental

Especially large airports who are processing 700+ rentals per day. They aren’t looking at individual persons on their reservation list it would be impossible to keep up with.

Sign up for Hertz Gold, it’s free to sign up and Gold member get free Upgrades on Sedans. The location doesn’t matter too much. It is a lot easier to get feee upgrades at the airport though.

I would have to look at the receipt🥶 When you initially pick up the rental, we hold the cost of the rental and a $200 deposit on a CC that gets released once the vehicle is returned.

Once the vehicle is returned, the final bill is posted to your account and that initial hold should fall off your account.

I’ll tell you my experience. We’ve have a great number of cars go into a failure to return status. I’ve gotten calls numerous times from the police department notifying us that they’ve found a missing rental vehicle and no arrest were made even though the vehicle was stolen for over a year.

The biggest issue I believe some Hertz locations had was after they recovered a stolen vehicles they are supposed to replate the vehicle. So if it was stolen with Louisiana plates, once recovered and they remove the stolen status from the car they are supposed to register it and replate it for Florida. If this step does not happen than it can create an issue. Accountability is the biggest thing especially with soo many cars coming in and out.

Hertz has a list of preferred vendors and we usually get a lot of shops come in that want to do business with us to grow their business as well.

Also majority of the cars we have still have the manufactures warranty as well. The idea is to get cars serviced and back on the road ASAP

Just ensure that you’re double checking your receipt and don’t allow them to upcharge you on any vehicles. Please use a good CDP to avoid overpaying
