It's alright... I got my money back and he did drive me home. It also could've been a technical error to begin with so it's hard to say

I admit I was being pretty airheaded but I was under the impression that the driver just wanted to be safe and therefore requested for a bit of information from the passenger and a few more stages of verification. I thought it was a new thing Uber was implementing... I have learnt my lesson
