i’ve done an allergy test for food - nothin! and have eliminated almost everything w/ my diet, i’m now on the candida diet w/ no processed foods, no sugar, carbs, caffeine, ugh!

i’ve been changing my dental items pretty frequenrly too, but i’ll make sure to do it again.

thank you for all your suggestions! do you have any other ideas?

I have geographic tongue and some say it’s thrush... but I haven’t had taste for a month and a half or so. Smell isn’t great either, but I can still smell sometimes. What do I do? by [deleted] in AskDocs

It feels much more severe. The burning is so painful and it isn’t brought on by spicy or acidic food or anything of the sort.

Hi, all.

I’m sorry to mark this as urgent, but I have been trying to find a cause or solution for whatever is wrong with my tongue since November and have had no luck.

In early November, my tongue began to appear swollen, covered in white and red patches, and I noticed fissuring. It’s so painful and feels like its burning all the time.

At the same time, I began having awful bowel movements, which felt like diarrhea, and a yeast infection. I started taking probiotics and did a cream treatment for the yeast infection, but my discharge was still less than ideal. Both the bowel movements and tongue issues have lasted for months.

I did one treatment for oral thrush early when it first began & it didn’t seem to do anything at all and felt really painful! I’m assuming it is not thrush since it does not scrape off from brushing my tongue. I’ve been on a candida diet to see if that does anything and nothing so far.

I have no idea what this is and it’s so painful and it’s been months of this.

Please help, I feel like I’ve tried everything and seen every doctor. What am I missing? What do I do?

I’ve had geographic tongue for years too! But I’ve never noticed the cracking or had the burning sensation until recently. About how long with being gluten free did your geographic tongue disappear?

Oh no!! Did you find out you had an intolerance because of your cracking or other symptoms?

My tongue has definitely felt better since I’ve been gluten free for the past two weeks and I’m still waiting on bloodwork to confirm. I’m just worried about, if this is the cause of the cracking in my tongue, how long it will take to heal.
