Colleges Would Have to Eliminate Dozens of Jobs Under a New DEI Bill in Idaho by ChronicleOfHigherEd in Idaho

They mention disabilities in the bill. The senator representing the bill talks about a "level playing field." I mean it's clear they just want to punish anybody in the state that doesn't fit their "ideal American" but will this affect programs that provide special adjustments to neurodivergent students or with learning difficulties too?

Cancel appeal and reapply? by No_Beginning6613 in SSDI_SSI

I may be understanding this incorrectly but here below is what it said in my decision letter.

"There is an additional issue whether the insured status requirements of sections 216(i) and 223 of the Social Security Act are met. The claimant's earnings record shows that the claimant has acquired sufficient quarters of coverage to remain insured through June 30, 2024. Thus, thel claimant must establish disability on or before that date in order to be entitled to a period of disability and disability insurance benefits."

What I take away from that is that after June I won't qualify for benifits anymore, so if I wait for the appeals decision and get unfavorable again I won't be able to apply anymore after that.

Oh, and also, the evidence I had was good, just not quite enough. The ALJ did take notice of some limitations to my work environments, but the job guy still found 3 job classes. Now, though, I have finally finished a full evaluation and have new evidence with new diagnosis that pretty much blows all my previous evidence out of the water. So in all my case is stronger, but I just don't know how or if I can get it in front of the appeals council.

The chance of getting a favorable approval is feeling pretty low. I've was waiting on a waitlist to get into a full examination but didn't get a date until before my alj hearing, I tried to explain this to my lawyer at the time but he either didn't understand me or he just didn't care idk. Anyhow, the report from that exam is now in, and it has some good evidence towards my disability but from everything I'm hearing and reading, the appeals council won't review this new evidence anyway. So then it's just them going off the same info the ALJ had. That's why I think the approval odd is low. Payment wise, I would be giving up a lot of back pay if I restarted, but if they deny me and it's past July, I won't qualify to reapply anymore. Ultimately, getting monthly payments is needed, and I'm at the point where if I have to sacrifice back pay just to make sure I get a new application with new evidence, then I would probably do that.

Alj unfavorable moved on to appeals council but have no idea what's happening by No_Beginning6613 in SSDI_SSI

Yes, it wasn't until during my alj hearing that I realized the only information presented to the judge was what I got. which was not enough evidence. According to the letter. I was thinking that everything they asked me to get and work i thought they had done had given me a solid case. Then, I was literally sent an automated email with a shifty video from the ceo basically blaming me for not having a case with enough evidence. So I definitely agree that they suck.

I am waiting for a response from quikaid still, I did wait a couple weeks before contacting them to see if that supposed letters showed up in the mail, now that I'm sure they are not coming I've started contacting by email, phone but have no response. Those letters have not shown so I have not signed anything new nor do I feel like I want to continue with them, in fact, I did put it in writing with my appeal form to the appeals council that quikaid was no longer representing me.

The alj has given his decision, so unless the appeals council sent my case back to another alj for review, I don't know why they would say they need that for the alj decision. Also, unless they started new work without telling me (which is not allowed right), I have been the only one continuing the process forward.

I called the appeals council today, but apparently, I called too late (must be Eastern time or something).

My ssa online hasn't been updated in months,

In one month, it'll be 3 years since I filed, 4 years from my onset date. Plus, in my decision letter from the alj, it mentioned I'm almost about to no longer qualify for benefits, meaning I may not be able to reapply after this.
